About the Book

The apostle Paul allegorically compared the physical body to a personal temple where God can dwell. Hezekiah described specific guidelines necessary to restore an individual temple damaged by disuse and disrepair. Those guidelines correlate well with the frequently described steps required to achieve inner healing, peace, and recovery. Restoring Your Temple will walk readers through the Christ-centered, step-wise journey of moving out of denial and powerlessness into a recovered lifestyle. The reader's temple can be restored to its intended purpose of being a place where the Spirit of God can inhabit, encourage, guide, and direct in a manner leading to emotional, relational and spiritual wholeness when every area of life is turned over to his care and control. This journey is a process requiring trust, devotion, and a willingness to do the deep work necessary to avoid relapse and further damage. The results are worth every moment invested in working the seven steps to their completion. Join Hager to travel this road to restoration together.

Review :
"An abundance of modern discourse characterizes persons as being a spirit that has a body. More accurately, we are an integrated body-soul unity. Our bodies matter. Further, writes Paul in his letter to the Corinthian Church, our bodies are 'temples' of the Holy Spirit. In Restoring Your Temple, Dr. David Hager outlines pathways to achieve holistic body-spirit restoration. Through practical guidance drawn from biblical wisdom, readers are encouraged to honor God and experience wholeness by transforming their bodies into healthy and holy temples." --Kevin Brown, president, Asbury University "Dr. W. David Hager is a powerful writer of truths that the Apostle Paul used to compare our physical bodies to the temple of the Holy Spirit! He is giving a blueprint for an abundant life! Dr. Hager is releasing scientific facts and profound reflections that challenge us to be all God designed us to be in his kingdom! This is a must-read book!" --Coy Barker, orator and author "Dr. David Hager offers scriptural insights and practical wisdom for restoring those areas of our lives damaged by sin. Your journey toward healing can start today." --Greg Smalley, vice president, Marriage and Family Formation, Focus on the Family "A doctor's expertise is human biology. Being a psychiatrist, I love when physicians use their critical thinking, people-centered gifts to dig past the physical sphere, thus examining the more profound aspect of our design, our PsychoSpiritual Sphere. Dr Hager compassionately pulls the curtain back on this sphere in Chapter 8, 'Do a Thorough Honest Inventory', which specifically and practically unpacks, I believe, the most crucial step catalyzing transformation. Even though Apostle Paul walked thru the other steps, he was still stuck on the Romans 7 hamster wheel. A deeper inventory process opens the door to reveal the destructive files of misinformation (columns 3-5) stored in our unconscious mind. Now we are equipped to destroy strongholds by actually taking every thought (not just our conscious ones) captive to the obedience of Christ resulting in true joy, peace, and freedom. " --Karl Benzio, MD, board certified psychiatrist, Honey Lake Clinic
