About the Book

The book FORGIVE: AT LAST, IT'S ALL ABOUT MERCY is in response to the voices of so many whom I have been privileged to minister to in the course of my preaching Retreats, Missions and Revivals. Many have asked that the topic of forgiveness and mercy, which I lay great emphasis on be made available in the form of a book. Undeniably, Life is all about relationships; firstly with God, oneself and other human beings. The underlying purpose for being in relationship is HAPPINESS. These relationships are like networks where one flows into the other. Thus, "Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen" (1John 4:20). I have encountered very unhappy and angry people. The book exposes the sad reality that, we get trapped in a jail cell of bitterness, serving time for someone else's crime and offense against us when we don't forgive. The unwillingness to practice and offer forgiveness to one another holistically affects our relationships. When we refuse to forgive, it is likened to, one being eating up by a "poisonous energy." The book highlights that, forgiveness is one of the most beautiful forms of love we can give to another and which in return brings us peace and happiness. Obviously, forgiveness is not like a "rocket science" (very difficult), neither is it like a "cakewalk" (very easy), but the work of the Holy Spirit in us. Thus, "The weak can never forgive. It takes a strong person to face pain head-on, forgive, and release it." The book therefore, offers us the impetus and courage to call on God for the Grace to do that which seems impossible: - forgiving one's enemy. What we need and receive from God most often is Mercy, not what we deserve. We are cautioned in this book, to avoid hearing at the end of our life, "You wicked servant, He said, 'I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. Shouldn't you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?" FORGIVE: AT LAST, IT'S ALL ABOUT MERCY!
