Tlou Maggie Masenya holds PhD in Information Science from University of South Africa (UNISA) and Masters in Information Technology from University of Pretoria (UP). She has 11 years of working experience as a senior lecturer in the field of Information Science, Information Systems and Technology, at various universities in South Africa. She was also appointed as a Head of Department in Information Technology at Durban University of Technology in 2023-2024. She is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Information Systems at Durban University of Technology, South Africa. She is a visionary leader and distinguished researcher with extensive and an impressive national and international research standing, and has published 25 book chapters, 25 articles in peer reviewed journals and also presented numerous papers nationally and internationally within the broad niche area of Digital preservation and Data Curation, Records and Knowledge Management, Technopreneurship, Digital Entrepreneurship, Cloud Computing, Innovative Pedagogies, Disruptive Technologies and Indigenous Knowledge Systems, which had a positive impact on her scholarly growth. She recently edited two books, and the first book is entitled “Innovative technologies for enhancing knowledge access in academic libraries” published by IGI-Global Scientific Publishing in July 2022. The second book is entitled “Digital preservation and Documentation of Global Indigenous Knowledge Systems” also published by IGI-Global Scientific Publishing in August 2023. She is currently editing two books: the first book entitled "'Revaluation and preservation of Indigenous Knowledge Systems in Modern Society"' and the second book entitled '' Resurgence and revalorization of Indigenous Knowledge Systems in the Contemporary Society, all to be published by IGI Global Scientific Publishing in May 2025. She leads research projects and mentors emerging academics and researchers, and.serves on numerous academic/university committees and boards. Monicca Thulisile Bhuda is an indigenous scholar, children's book author, award winning academic and a cultural heritage expert. At the University of Mpumalanga, Dr. Bhuda coordinates a course and lectures on culture and heritage studies. She graduated from North-West University with a Bachelor's degree (hons) in Indigenous Knowledge Systems, a Master's degree also in Indigenous Knowledge Systems and a PhD studies in Social Sciences with Indigenous Knowledge Systems (IKS). She has been featured on numerous media platforms such as TV, Radio, Magazines and Newspapers that were based on her interests as an indigenous scholar and on Indigenous Knowledge Systems. She has also written a number of publications on various subjects related to Indigenous Knowledge Systems, which is a multidisciplinary discipline.
