About the Author :
Piyush Kumar With over 17 years of extensive experience within the healthcare industry, Piyush has made significant contributions across the domains of healthcare and life sciences. Following a substantial tenure in the industry from 2007 to 2019, he decided to pursue his passion for academia. Presently, Piyush Kumar holds the position of Associate Professor at IILM University, Gurugram. Previously, he has been working as Associate Professor and Associate Dean, Trainings at Institute of Health Management Research, Bangalore, a role he has assumed since 2020.He has also managed the Institution Innovation Council (IIC) and was a core team member for the Center for Advancing Digital Health, Management, Innovation, Research, and Entrepreneurship (ADMIRE) at IIHMR, Bangalore During 2019 to 2020, Piyush served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Management at Banasthali Vidyapith (NAAC A++ University). Between 2013 and 2019, he held a pivotal role in healthcare consulting as a Program Manager for the healthcare and life sciences practice, covering the South Asia, Middle East, and Africa region at Frost & Sullivan. During the period from 2007 to 2013, Piyush Kumar also made significant contributions to prominent healthcare chains in India, assuming various strategic leadership roles. Furthermore, he headed the medical services division of the 'Buddh International Circuit,' India's sole Formula One racing track. Piyush Kumar's academic journey commenced with the attainment of a master’s degree in health and Hospital Administration from IIHMR University in 2007. Presently, he is pursuing his Ph.D. in Management from Banasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan. His research interests encompass the realms of healthcare management and digital healthcare. Driven by a passion for writing, Piyush has authored numerous articles pertaining to the healthcare industry, which have been featured in esteemed healthcare publications. Additionally, he has presented his research findings at various national and international conferences. His expertise has been recognized by prestigious organizations, leading to invitations to speak at events hosted by the Ministry of Labor in Taiwan, CSR India, and the Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organizations (CAHO) in India. Much of his work has centred around enhancing healthcare management through the application of diverse tools and cutting-edge technologies. Mr. Piyush is credited as a co-author of two notable works: “Implementing Six Sigma to Enhance the Hospital Discharge Process” published in the International Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences Research, and “Innovation in Healthcare Marketing Strategies in India” featured in the Innovative Journal of Business and Management. Pankaj Rahi (B.Sc, MCA, M.Phil-Computer Science, Ph.D(Computer Applications)) is working as Associate Professor in Department of Health Information Technology and Management, Institute of Health Management and Research, Bangalore, Karnataka, India. He has more than 15 Years of Industrial and 4 years of teaching and research experience in the domains of Cloud Computing, Big Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Transfer-learning, Health Informatics, IoMT and Smart eHealth Systems. He has published research articles in 10 Scopus indexed Journals and International Conferences. He has published 3 International Patents and 8 Indian Patents so far. He was also the State Awardee(Commendation awarded by Hon'ble Governor of Govt. of Punjab and Administrator of UT Chandigarh Administration, Chandigarh) Health Department, Chandigarh Administration, Chandigarh during 2020 for their best services contributions in the domains of eHealth, mHealth, Telemedicine, Health-MIS, Mother Child Tracking System/RCH-Information System, e-Governance, Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission and AB-Health & Wellness Centers-Information Systems. He is also active team member of bringing out the eGovernance-Innovations of Online Aadhar-enabled Birth Registration of Infants at hospitals, Implementations of online Direct Benefit Transfer Scheme through Public Financial Management System, Implementation of eSanjeevani- NationalTele-Consultations Services at Health and Wellness Centres in UT Chandigarh. He is having the life-membership of ACM, IEEE international bodies, and life-member of International Institute of Engineers. Shiv Dutt Gupta is a leading Public Health professional with a distinguished academic and research career. He obtained his M.D. (Preventive & Social Medicine) from India, and Ph.D. (Epidemiology) from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, USA. He was conferred Fellowship of Academy of Medical Science, India (FAMS) for his outstanding contribution in the field of public health. He has done pioneering work of creating and establishing new discipline of health management, and promoting research in health policy and health systems and programmes. Currently Dr. Gupta is Distinguished Professor, IIHMR University, Adjunct Professor, Epidemiology, Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health, Gates Leadership Fellow and Trustee Secretary, Indian Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR), India. He was the Former Chairman, IIHMR University, and Director of IIHMR Jaipur for one and a half decade. He was the first President of the IIHMR University in 2014. He served as the Director of WHO Collaborating Centre for District Health Systems at IIHMR facilitating management research and interventions in the health systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness of health care. Dr Gupta is Adjunct Professor at the Johns Hopkins University, USA and Visiting Professor at University of Chester, UK. He was the President of WHO SEARO’s South East Asia Public Health Education Network (SEAPHEIN). Dr. Gupta also served as Temporary Advisor to SEARO WHO on several consultation processes. He was member of the Technical Review Panel of the Global Fund. Dr Gupta is member of several research advisory committees of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and Chairs Project Review Committee of Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. He has championed the cause of quality improvement and capacity building in health care in India and South East Asia. Dr. Gupta is the recipient of QIMPRO Gold Standard Award 2009 for quality of Healthcare. Over the past three and a half decades of his distinguished career, he has completed more than 100 research studies and projects supported by various organizations/agencies and have more than 100 research publications to his credit. The areas of research include: public health, epidemiology, health systems and management. Kirti Udayai boasts a remarkable career spanning over 17 years, seamlessly blending expertise in healthcare and academia. Presently, she holds the position of Head Academics at Max Healthcare Institute Limited, where she imparts knowledge in Hospital Management, a role she has embraced for over a decade. Dr. Udayai's professional journey pivots around her profound interest in hospital management where she has made significant research contributions. Her scholarly endeavours shine through her prolific publication record in both national and international journals. Prashant Singh is a veteran of Air Force with over two decades of service in frontline combat squadrons and has flown over 2500 hours on various fighter and trainer aircraft.
