About the Book

Advancing sustainable engineering requires innovation approaches to energy efficiency, resource management and environmental impact reduction. These systems that encompass all thermal energy technologies play a critical role in sectors ranging from renewable energy and transportation. By optimizing the behavior fluids and thermal processes, engineers are developing smarter and more resilient solutions that align with global, sustainability goals. As the demand for low-carbon technologies accelerates, thermo-fluid innovations are proving essential to shaping a more sustainable and energy-efficient future. Advancing Sustainable Engineering Through Next-Generation Thermo-Fluid Systems explores the advancements in thermo-fluid engineering, emphasizing the integration of technologies. This book connects thermo-fluid systems with sustainability goals, exploring renewable energy integration, lifecycle efficiency, and environmental impact, offering a broader perspective. Covering topics such as thermos-fluids, sustainability, and climate change, this book is an excellent resource for researchers, academics, industry professionals, graduate students, and policymakers.

About the Author :
Dr Kamalakanta Muduli , is presently working as Associate Professor and Head of the School of Mechanical Engineering, Papua New Guinea University of Technology, Lae, Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea. He is also a Visiting Researcher at University of Derby, UK. He has obtained PhD from School of Mechanical Sciences, IIT Bhubaneswar, Orissa, India. Dr Muduli has over 19 years of academic experience in Universities in India and Papua New Guinea. Dr Muduli is a recipient of ERASMUS+ KA107 award provided by European Union. He has published 102 papers in peer reviewed international journals most of which are indexed in Clarivate analytics, Scopus and listed in ABDC and more than 37 papers in National and International Conferences. He has been also guest edited 10 Special Issues in journals and 16 books published by Springer, Taylor and Francis, MDPI, CRC Press, Wiley Scrivener and Apple Academic Press. Dr Muduli also has supervised four PhD students. His current research interest includes Manufacturing, Sustainable supply chain management, and Industry 4.0 applications in operations and supply chain management. Dr Muduli is a fellow of Institution of Engineers India. He is also a senior member of Indian Institution of Industrial Engineering, member of American Society of Mechanical Engineers(ASME) and Professional member of Industrial Engineering and Operations Management(IEOM) Society. Dr Sachindra Kumar Rout has a strong background in refrigeration engineering, CFD and cryogenics. His experience in the three fields is deep and varied. At the moment most of his time and effort are directed towards developing the technology of closed cycle regenerative cryorefrigerators, specifically the low speed GM and GM type Pulse Tube cryocoolers. The cryogenics laboratory at C V Raman Global university, which he founded with generous support and encouragement of the University and is heading today, has achieved remarkable success in recent months. The single stage GM refrigerator designed and built completely at C V Raman has achieved a low temperature of 30 Kelvin, this record being a landmark in India on the road to achieving self-sufficiently in designing cryogenic equipment. Dr. Rout has been supporting his research effort through a series of small and medium size projects secured from national funding agencies, the best among them being a mid sized project on development of GM type cryocooler from the Board of Research on Nuclear Sciences. In addition to the main research target, his team has crafted several small devices - a retort type vacuum furnace, a membrane type nitrogen generator, an Arduino controller based nitrogen purity meter and more. At present in addition to the mission of developing India’s first complete closed cycle cryocooler. Dr. Bukke Kiran Naik is an Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering Department at NIT Rourkela from 2020. He received both his Ph.D. (2019) and M-Tech (2014) from IIT Guwahati and B-Tech (2012) from JNTU Anantapur in Mechanical Engineering. He worked as a Queen Elizabeth Postdoctoral fellow at Simon Fraser University, Canada during 2019–2020 and as Project Engineer at IIT Guwahati in 2019. He is the recipient of Paired Early Career Fellowship in Applied Research (PECFAR) from Indo-German Science and Technology Centre (IGSTC), Queen Elizabeth Scholars (QES) Fellowship from Universities Canada, CCSTDS Travel fellowship from INSA/CSIR/DAE-BRNS-CCSTDS, and SERB-ITS travel grant from DST, Government of India. Further, he was selected as Young Indian Scientist to the 6th BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) conclave 2021 in the thematic area of Energy Solutions and he also received INAE fellowship for working as a visiting researcher at IIT Kanpur. He has filled three patents till date and secured three funded research projects from ISRO, SERB and NIT Rourkela. He also received funding from several funding agencies (SERB, ATAL and ISHRAE) to organize outreach programs (workshops and short-term courses). He served as a student’s activities chair, K-12 chair and CWC member for ISHARE Guwahati-sub chapter from year 2016–2018 and Program chair for ISHARE Bhubaneswar sub-chapter from year 2021–2022. Currently, serving as ISHRAE Bhubaneswar Sub- Chapter President for the year 2022–2023. He has about 50 research articles in reputed international journals and conference proceedings. Moreover, Dr. Naik has been invited by various reputed institutes/societies to deliver talk on his research work carried out in energy-water nexus or sustainable energy and buildings. Albert Uchenna Ude received the M.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees in mechanical and materials engineering from the National University of Malaysia, in 2006 and 2011, respectively. He then works as a Senior Researcher for some years after graduation at the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering, National University of Malaysia. In 2015, he was appointed as a Senior Lecturer and later the Head of the Department Mechanical Engineering, Papua New Guinea University of Technology. He is currently serving as an Associate Professor at the Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST), Botswana, where he is also the current Research Chairperson of the Advanced Industrial, Materials, Systems (AIMS) Research Group. He has authored two book chapters and many refereed published scholarly/scientific journal articles. His research interests include machine design, PV optimization, materials
