About the Author :
Georgios Fotis , Ph.D., holds his Diploma and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the National Technical University of Athens in 2001 and 2006, respectively. He used to work for various companies: as a project engineer for medium voltage equipment for Schneider Electric S.A., as an R&D engineer in the development of new technologies in surge arresters for Raycap S.A., and also as a project engineer for the extension of the metro line in Athens, working for HM Engineering Consulting S.A. From 2009 to 2024, he worked for the Independent Power Transmission Operator (IPTO), working in various positions: as Supervisor of the National Energy Control Center, as Senior Engineer of the Operation and System Control Department, and Head of the Transmission Cable Lines Construction Section of the New Transmission Projects Department. From 2006 to 2008, he was a research assistant of the High Voltage Laboratory of the National Technical University of Athens and an adjunct lecturer, teaching high voltages. From 2010 to 2024, he was an adjunct Assistant Professor for the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Educators, School of Pedagogical and Technological Education (ASPETE), teaching courses in power engineering such as electric power systems, electrical installations, and high voltages. He has been since August 2024 with the Center for Energy Technologies, Aarhus University, as an Associate Professor on Energy Systems Management. His research interests include power systems, renewable energy sources, transmission and distribution grids, high voltages, high voltage power cables, electromagnetic compatibility, and electrostatic discharge. He is the author of one book and more than 70 papers in international journals and conferences. Tarun Varshney received his BE in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering from Rajasthan University, Jaipur, India, in 2001, M.Tech in Control and Instrumentation from MNNIT, Allahabad, India, in 2007 and Ph.D from MNNIT Allahabad in 2014. Currently he is working as HOD & Professor in Department of Electrical, Electronics and Communication Engineering, SET, Sharda University, Greater Noida, UP, India. His research interests include intelligent control systems, multi-variable systems modelling and neural networks. He is reviewer of SCI, E-SCI and Scopus indexed journals. He is Senior Member of IEEE, Life member of ISTE, Member of ISA and Fellow of IE(I). Suman Lata Dhar Associate Professor, Department of Electrical Electronics and Communication Engineering, Sharda School of Engineering and Technology, Sharda University, Greater Noida India. She has over 30 publications in peer-reviewed journals. She has been a reviewer at many international conferences. In addition, she has presented over 20 papers at national and international conferences. She is a life member of the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) and holds an IEEE membership. Muhammad Majid Gulzar (Member, IEEE) received the M.S. degree in electrical engineering (control science and engineering) from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), in 2012, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering (control science and engineering) from the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore, Pakistan, in 2016. He did his postdoctoral certification from the Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Nanjing, China, in 2019. He is currently an Assistant Professor with the Department of Control and Instrumentation Engineering (CIE), King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia. He is also a member of the Center for Renewable Energy and Power Systems, KFUPM. His research interests include operation and control of renewable energy systems, optimization techniques and applications, multi-agent networks, analysis and design of linear/nonlinear systems, and economic energy dispatch. He has advised several projects in these areas and has a number of publications in international leading journals and conferences.
