About the Book

It's a taut espionage thriller narrating the daring escapades of debonair RAW Agent Raj Mehra and Colonel Roy, his Mentor that unfolds near Nepal border close to Siliguri where organized gangs indulge in shady deals. With Nepal fast turning out to be a useful conduit for Pakistan for providing material support to antinational elements, India is worried. Pakistan wants to bifurcate India at the Siliguri corridor, the slender chicken's neck connecting North Eastern part of the country with the mainland to avenge creation of Bangladesh. Khan, a dangerous Afghan who leads such a gang, gets whiff of Raj's real identity. Raj barely manages to escape from the clutches of Khan with the help of Colonel Roy. There are more such attacks with Raj being poisoned at Bagdogra Airport. This time Khan is accompanied by a beautiful young lady. Timely hospitalization at Siliguri saves his life. Post hospitalization, Raj is brought to Delhi for recovery but soon gets embroiled in action as few of Khan's accomplices get caught in Delhi. Their Interrogation reveals a sinister plot hatched by Pakistan and China code named operation 'Chicken Kebab'. Taking advantage of the fluid situation in the strife torn North-Eastern states, a lightning fast joint military operation is planned to take the Indian security forces by surprise. The annexed landmass is to be divided between them. This would provide Pakistan enough heft to cajole or even browbeat Bangladesh back to their national fold with the help of Islamic fundamentalists there. With diminished stature in international politics and low national morale, India would then become highly vulnerable to attacks by hostile foreign powers. Khan is captured from Darjeeling and a woman, who turns out to be the same lady seen with him at Bagdogra, rescued from his clutches. Her real name is Tara, a PhD scholar from BHU. Khan's interrogation leads to the arrest of a Bangladeshi fugitive named Kallu Miyan from Kolkata who is the head of the gang. Absconding businessman Dalmia is murdered in Mumbai which is attributed to the Mumbai underworld. Involvement of organized crime gangs from other Asian nations is also suspected. Pak army plan to eliminate Khan's associates caught in Delhi holding them responsible for the botched operation 'Chicken Kebab' with the help of the dreaded Dawood gang who would sneak in its members from Dubai for the job but they are caught. Raj and Tara develop soft corner for each other prompting his parents to plan their marriage but Tara dies suddenly due to covid. Meanwhile an international seminar is being organized in New York by a globally renowned virology research body with participation from major countries from every continent. The theme is philanthropic but its real aim is to garner support for joint research on virology by China and global drug giants. But the hidden agenda is to develop and unleash a lethal virus that would create havoc across the world and bring governments to their knees begging for a cure. It is a diabolic plot hatched by Beijing and its cohorts chaperoned by these drug companies who would reap the benefit by selling antidotes and vaccines even if means loss of millions of lives. The Chinese figured that they would be able to bring the virus quickly under control in their country through a mix of lock downs and coercive isolation and quarantine measures. Having thwarted operation 'Chicken Kebab', India realizes that the only way to deter Pakistan is to launch a Bangladesh like operation there fomenting secessionist strife at first followed by military intervention. So, India plans for the seemingly impossible task of sneaking Raj and other agents into Pakistan with the mission to neutralize its nuclear arsenal. Mossad is roped in to train Raj and others for this arduous task who undergoes rigorous training at an undisclosed site to prepare for the 'Mission Impossible'.
