About the Author :

David Aretha is an award-winning author and editor of more than 200 books for thirty-plus publishers such as Random House, HarperCollins, St. Martin’s Press, and Scholastic, with some of his books appearing on the Today show, The Early Show, CNN, MSNBC, and NPR.

David specializes in history, sports, biographies, and fiction for both adults and young readers. His authorship includes books in the Sports Greats series, such as Top 10 Pitchers in Baseball, Top 10 Hitters in Baseball, and Top 10 Teams in Baseball. He has also written thousands of MLB and NFL player profiles for The Topps Company.

In 2014 he earned a Moonbeam Children’s Book Award and the Wilbur Award for his book Malala Yousafzai and the Girls of Pakistan, and his book The Murder of Emmett Till has been used as text for students at New York University. He has also worked with or been recognized by prominent individuals such as Walter Cronkite, John Eisenhower, Congressman John Lewis, Al Gore, Barack Obama, and Joe Biden.
