A lo largo de su carrera, ha producido más de 30 obras literarias, incluyendo poesía, ensayos y crítica, traducidas y publicadas internacionalmente. Ion Deaconescu ha sido reconocido con numerosos premios y distinciones internacionales, entre ellos el Premio Trieste Poesía (2010), el Premio Rafael Alberti (2017), y la Medalla de Oro de Alejandro Magno (2021). También es miembro de prestigiosas academias, como la Academia Europea de Ciencias, Artes y Letras de París, y ha recibido títulos honoríficos de diversas instituciones académicas. Su poesía, descrita como profundamente introspectiva y capaz de elevar lo cotidiano a lo sublime, ha sido elogiada por figuras como Eugène Guillevic, Rafael Alberti y Allen Ginsberg.
