About the Book

The Keeper: Similar To The Swamp Thing But Evil The Keeper is a chilling novel, drawing readers into a tale of vengeance, survival, and the inescapable pull of the past. The Keeper is an iconic, terrifying figure that embodies the forest's wrath-a horror villain as relentless and unforgettable as Freddy or Jason. A small town is haunted by a vengeful, otherworldly entity known only as "The Keeper." Emerging from the twisted, decaying forest at the edge of town, the Keeper exacts brutal punishment on those who dare to cross its territory. As the body count rises and the Keeper's origin is slowly uncovered, the townspeople realize they are up against an unstoppable force with terrifying motivations. Character: The Keeper The Keeper is a haunting figure, impossibly tall and dressed in a patchwork of decayed forest debris-tattered leaves, vines, and rotting branches that seem to grow right from its skeletal frame. Its face is hidden beneath a twisted, bark-like mask with hollow, dark eye sockets that exude an eerie, glowing mist. In one hand, it wields a jagged, rusted scythe, believed to be as old as the forest itself, with blades that are pocked with moss and decay yet lethally sharp. The Keeper is the guardian of the Crooked Wood, a cursed forest said to devour the souls of trespassers. BACK STORY Legend has it that the Keeper was once a reclusive herbalist who lived centuries ago, a healer turned outcast after a deadly plague swept through the town. When her own children died from the sickness, the townsfolk accused her of witchcraft and, in a blind rage, dragged her to the heart of the forest, where they left her to perish in a violent ritual. The forest consumed her body, her spirit merging with the woods, transforming her into the merciless Keeper-a vengeful entity that protects the Crooked Wood from all who would defile or trespass upon its grounds. When a group of teenagers sneaks into the Crooked Wood to investigate the local legend, they soon realize that the stories are horrifyingly real. One by one, they are stalked and picked off by the Keeper, each death as brutal as it is symbolic of their perceived "sin" against the land. News of the teens' disappearance stirs fear in the town, and the police launch an investigation. But the more they search, the more disturbing the clues become-evidence of rituals, ancient symbols, and sightings of the Keeper moving through the mist at night. As the terror escalates, a survivor of the initial encounter-a local girl named Jamie-becomes determined to end the Keeper's reign. She uncovers forgotten town records and old folklore suggesting a way to break the curse, but doing so would mean confronting the Keeper directly within the forest. Alongside a few others who have lost loved ones to the Keeper's vengeance, Jamie ventures into the Crooked Wood with a desperate plan. However, the Keeper's wrath is boundless, and as Jamie delves deeper into the cursed forest, she learns that its roots stretch beyond physical boundaries-its influence haunting minds, warping memories, and trapping souls in endless torment. Only those willing to sacrifice everything may stand a chance of ending the Keeper's terror.
