About the Book

When Dhamma is not understood in accordance with the words of the Buddha-meaning the universal four stages of Nirvana Dhamma-you cannot develop the right view or follow the Noble Path. When Buddha intended one meaning, but the ordinary Sangha interprets it differently, the correct understanding is hindered, leading to wrong views that diverge from the Dhamma. For example, if an ordinary person understands Dhamma merely as a tradition, but the Buddha intended it to refer to the four stages of Nirvana, this difference in interpreting the term Dhamma can lead to a non-noble or incorrect view, which is contrary to the noble path. Similarly, if you understand an ordinary person who gains social ordination as a monk, but Buddha meant a monk as a Sotapanna, Sakadagami, Anagami, and Arahant, the difference in interpreting the word monk itself will lead to a non-noble view or the wrong view in line with the noble path. Keep in mind that Nirvana Dhamma always exists beyond conventional boundaries. This illustrates why the accurate interpretation of the Dhamma is essential for developing the right view. It's not just about the words themselves, but also about the accurate interpretation, each word of Dhamma should be interpreted in accordance with the four stages of Nirvana Dhamma. What is commonly observed is that ordinary Sangha explains Dhamma without any reference to the four stages of Nirvana. Such explanations are at an elementary level of Dhamma and do not help you develop the noble view or right view in accordance with the four stages of Nirvana. This explains why it is only by learning from the noble Sanghas that ordinary Sanghas can cultivate the right view. This is a universal occurrence and an inherent aspect of Dhamma, rather than a socially approved method. Therefore, anyone who calls themselves a follower of the Buddha must learn to understand beyond mere social practices and interpret every word of the Dhamma in relation to the four stages of Nirvana, which transcends conventional understanding. Despite your beliefs or understanding of Dhamma or the Buddha, if you are not aware of or aligned with the universal Dhamma, you are moving away from the teachings of the universal Buddha, Dhamma, and Sangha. To grasp universal Dhamma, you must learn to understand beyond social practices and conventions. If you do not comprehend the basics, such that interpreting universal Dhamma requires understanding beyond mere social practices, you cannot make progress on the noble path. By doing so, you go against the words of the Buddha. This book discusses issues related to the misinterpretation of Dhamma, and by understanding these misinterpretations, you can eliminate wrong views and develop the right view along the noble path.
