About the Book

God in the Twenty-First Century presents a philosophical and theological journey in pursuit of truth, existence, and human purpose. The work begins by exploring three classical theories of truth: correspondence (truth aligns with reality), coherence (truth fits logically within a belief system), and pragmatic (truth benefits the good). However, the book argues that we cannot directly access absolute reality (correspondence), so we rely on coherence and pragmatism to approximate it. Ultimately, existence itself is declared the foundation of what is good and true-echoing the biblical "I AM" from Exodus 3:14. Truth, then, is defined as that which corresponds to reality, is internally coherent, and promotes existential good. Through experience, we come into contact with existence, and as experiencers, we interpret that experience through worldviews. Since only a limited number of worldviews exist, the book proposes we evaluate them based on these theories of truth. It systematically critiques various worldviews-atheism, agnosticism, polytheism, pantheism, and others-showing how each falls short of unifying and explaining existence and experience. Abrahamic monotheism emerges as the most coherent and pragmatically beneficial. Within this tradition, Christianity is argued to be uniquely viable due to the fulfillment of prophecy, scriptural coherence, and historical influence. Christianity's claims are further reinforced through logic formulas and propositions that build toward a singular conclusion: Christianity best explains reality. The book then advocates for a specific theological framework within Christianity-Calvinism-emphasizing God's sovereignty and the priesthood of all believers, rejecting hierarchical control over spiritual experience. From this follows Christian Hedonism, the idea that humanity finds ultimate joy and purpose in glorifying God through personal fulfillment. The doctrines of the Trinity and Imago Dei assert that human experience is sacred and meaningful. Finally, the text culminates in a call to live purposefully within God's creation. This includes postmillennial hope-working for societal transformation-and the ultimate vocation of humanity: to live freely and fully in the divine interplay of existence and experience. Through truth, trust, and spiritual engagement, the human person becomes a conscious, active participant in God's unfolding creation.
