About the Book

"Devil dreams" refer to the dreams of demons. In some religious translations, the demon is described as the bright star, also known as the morning star. The morning star is Venus, which in ancient China was called Tai Bai. It shines brilliantly, being the brightest star in the sky. As an inner planet of Earth, Venus has a low angular trajectory. It may appear in the east (as the herald of dawn) or in the west (as the evening star). Each time we see it, we are either about to welcome a vibrant new day or plunge into a long night. In the long night, people sleep and dream. Where do dreams come from? What stories do dreams hold? In The Tale of the Southern Official, Chunyu Fen experiences a life of splendour and wakes to find it was all a dream. This encapsulates the philosophy of "a dream within a dream" life is but a dream, and dreams are like life. Just as dreams reflect life, the story's protagonist Giny undergoes a series of continuous dreams, "living" in them for over six months. The vivid sensations of these dreams blend into her memories, leaving a lasting imprint on her life. The narrative begins with her ongoing dreams and later reveals her waking quest to find the male lead, Bowie, in order to validate the reality of her dreams. The inspiration for this story stems from my personal dream experiences, infused with imagination and fiction, weaving together a captivating fantastical world. The themes of "quantum mechanics" and "blockchain technology" may seem unrelated, yet scientists have long been researching how to utilize "quantum entanglement" for real-time data transmission over infinite distances. The powerful capabilities of "quantum computers" empower virtual currency "miners" with the ability to swiftly decode, creating false verifications that threaten the security of blockchain systems. In this story, the demon constructs a dream world to imprison Giny and transforms the spaces within this world into blocks, creating a blockchain system with a cryptocurrency called "Magical Dream Coin," used for cross-universal money laundering activities. The protagonists hack into the demon's quantum computer, generating false certifications through high-speed computations to attack the dream world's blockchain system, ultimately collapsing the "Magical Dream Coin" and leading to the destruction of the dream world, successfully rescuing Giny. As the ancient saying goes: "Water can carry a boat; it can also capsize it." Attacking a system is not necessarily a bad thing. The waters of good and evil flow like two rivers, intertwined from the dawn of creation until the end of days. Reality and dreams also resemble two rivers, occasionally intersecting and sometimes diverging in parallel dimensions. Each dream is a spiritual adventure, and each awakening is a re-discovery of oneself. In this river of intertwined lives, cherishing every encounter and experience is the core message this work aims to share. Now, let us explore together!
