About the Book

On a cold Christmas Eve, a young boy named Jacob finds a silver bell in the snow outside his home -- lost from Santa's sleigh. Its clear, gentle sound seems to carry a promise meant just for him. Far away at the North Pole, a young elf named Joseph is called as the new Keeper of the Bells of Christmas. But, as the year unfolds, he senses something is wrong. The bells are falling out of tune, and some are slipping into silence. The music that carries Christmas to the world is in danger.

Guided by dreams, faith, and an unseen connection between them, Joseph and Jacob must discover where the bells' true song is born -- before the world forgets the sounds of Christmas. As they face challenges with hope, they learn that loss can eventually lead to peace, that they are not left alone and there is something extraordinary in the most ordinary things.

Keeper of the Bells is a luminous holiday story of belief and patience, loss and healing, and the quiet power of hope carried in a child's heart. Its evocative illustrations are contemporary and timeless and help share a story rich with warmth and wonder. It reminds readers that the truest music of Christmas is not created of silver, but comes from choosing hope even in a world of sadness, and finding how to faithfully share love with those all around us.

If we do our best to believe, there is a magic in the spirit of Christmas that helps our small efforts grow to fill the world.
