About the Author :
DAVID WILLIAMS is a successful business owner who turned what many would call a trying and unfortunate childhood into one of the most successful painting businesses in the country. Dropping out of school in the ninth grade, David says, is what placed him in the position shortly thereafter to realize the joy of being married at seventeen to his child-hood sweetheart. Together, they worked hard to prove naysayers wrong and demonstrate their commitment to God, each other, and their family as they walked through the highs and lows of raising a family and growing a flourishing and successful business. After retiring, David turned to the fulfillment of another goal that others urged him to pursue, writing his life story, which became "The Long Road Here". After realizing that he had more material, he decided to write a second book dedicated solely to the painting business titled "Nuggets for the Painter's Soul: The Ultimate Guide to Starting and Growing a Painting Business". David and Mary share their story with the hope that others may be inspired in business and life to realize that "your past does not have to define your future."

Review :

I was honored to be asked to write an endorsement for this book. My wife and I got to know the Williams family when we were stationed at Andrews Air Force Base in 1974. Dave's dad was retired Army and a Vietnam Veteran, and I was an active-duty Staff Sergeant in the Air Force and also a Vietnam Veteran. Both of our parents were sharecroppers, so we had a lot of things to talk about and respect. Many times, I suggested to Dave that he should write a book. His book is a modern-day story of a self-made businessman, and family man. He is highly respected in the community and by his employees. This book is an inspirational true story for anyone who has run into life's many challenges and is seeking hope that things can turn around. Les Eichhorn

I have been a friend of Dave Williams for 38 years and his certified public accountant for almost 30 years. As his personal and corporate certified public accountant, I have experienced and advised Dave in good and bad economic times. Through those times Dave was consistent in his core beliefs and convictions and made the necessary adjustments to correct, adjust, and ultimately survive as evident by Williams Professional Painting, Inc. being in business for 48 years. Not an easy feat! Dave is a true entrepreneur, always up to date with the latest technology and industry changes. I can't think of a better spokesman, writer, or consultant for painting and service-related businesses. Craig W. Braucht

Certified Public Accountant, Tysons Corner, VA/Greenville, SC

I am greatly honored to recommend David (Dave) Williams. My friendship with him spans over 25 years. Dave is a husband, a father, a church member, a business owner, a friend, and now an author. I have seen him care for his customers by making sure that what was promised was indeed delivered. Dave is wanting to help, willing to give of his valuable time, and has challenged me by his example. While supporting Williams Professional Painting He modeled a fair boss, a driven business developer, a marking and planning strategist and more. Ary Rodriguez
