About the Book

Book 1 Of The Legend Of The Jo-lan series chronicles the events of episodes 1 to five beginning with the events of Son Of The Phoenix Lord and ending with the events in The Cursed Port Town. Son Of The Phoenix Lord. Eons ago, there existed great fighters known as the Jo-lan who drew forth their power from mythical beasts known as Psychorages. However, an evil warlord called Innovain brought them to the brink of extinction, then he sought to enslave the next generation of Jo-lan fighters. A young boy called Josec Fenix, after witnessing the death of his father, renounces the art of fighting, but fate sets him on the path of a fighter to restore peace. The Succeeding Phoenix. Josec is asked to choose a Jo-lan class after which he returns to school. Unfortunately, school has been raided by Ysmann and over fifty students are taken captive. Now Josec must make the decision he has been running from for many years or lose his friends forever. But is he strong enough to confront Innovain? Broken Wings. Josec remains unconscious. Buern and Harry are worried. Buern decides to work in a Restaurant in Gate in order to keep up with the expenses at the inn. When Josec finally wakes up, he finds out that his mother had confronted Innovain and immediately loses hope in the future. No matter how hard Harry and Buern try to convince him that he has done his best, he remains in a state of depression. On top of that, he finds himself paralyzed and Buern is soon kidnapped. Can Josec rescue her in the state he is in or has this hero finally lost his thunder. The River Of Recollection. Josec, Harry and Buern leave the town of Gate. However, they are pursued by Innovain's men. Buern still lacks the power to access her Jo-lan powers. To deal with the situation, they split up. Buern and Harry arrive at a canyon where Buern hears a voice calling for help which only she seems to hear. Buern dives into the river below to save the girl but is eventually carried over a waterfall. When she regains consciousness, she finds herself in the company of a strange woman who offers to tell her the truth about her origins and her mother. The time for Buern to make a stand has come. The Cursed Port Town. Josec, Harry and Buern journey to the Port Town Of Wusihen. Their journey is followed by a series of strange events. First, Josec hears a voice coming from the forest, then he senses an intense killer intent from Wusihen followed by an earthquake. To make matters worse, Marina declares war on Wusihen with the Psychorages of the Earth and Forest. She gives the trio a day to discover the secret behind the Port Town's success or watch the Port Town be destroyed. Josec, Buern and Harry need to work fast if they wish to save Wusihen.
