About the Book

I was born in Armenia (formerly the Soviet Union), immigrated to the US in 1999, and retired as an adjunct research professor at George Washington University. I have witnessed many epochal events during my lifetime, including the landing on the Moon, the Cold War, the fall of the USSR, and 9/11. I also have my vision on the things that are happening now, both locally and globally. I experienced political, economic, and social chaos during and after the Soviet collapse, and personally, as an opposition member, was involved in the politics of post-Soviet Armenia. I have seen both global powers, the USSR and the USA, from inside and out. Every generation describes its version of the events. We, baby boomers, have witnessed many things that the current generation is unaware of. In this book, as a scientist and a person with political experience, I describe the basics of politology from the logic of subjective behavior. I substantiate the motives and the goals of a politician: why is he rushing to power, and why is he acting by double standards, or more precisely, without any standards. And why are ordinary people willing to be subject to the will of politicians? Having knowledge of the details of the Soviet collapse, I see that things are now going wrong in the West as well. To prevent the coming turmoil, I see only one remedy- to educate people in the basics of the real, untold, unheard-of politology. The one that nobody talks about, since deceptive politics have become the only ones honored and available in our times. The book is unique in that it contains over 150 pictures related to politics, 25 diagrams that visualize key concepts, and more than 250 of my own quotes on politics. This combination makes the ideas in the book accessible to all people regardless of background, views, and political biases.
