About the Book

At St. Jude's Hospital, the sterile scent of bleach usually offers a sense of order, but for internist Kaelen Driscoll, it has begun to smell like a cover-up. When a patient dies from a inexplicable neurological collapse, Kaelen is horrified to find the man's entire digital existence scrubbed from the ICU logs within the hour. No intake notes, no history, nothing but a vacant bed. As Kaelen digs into the glitch, he realizes the hospital isn't just losing files-it's harvesting the city's most vulnerable patients for "Serevax," a lethal experimental neuro-drug designed to "reprogram" the mind for elite performance.

The rot goes deeper than a single ward. Aided by Tamsin Gallagher, a cynical nurse with a hidden agenda and a dead uncle to avenge, Kaelen discovers a sub-basement "graveyard" where the uninsured are used as human test subjects. The hospital's impending IPO has turned the institution into a predatory machine, led by the cold, calculating Meredith Sinclair. In this sanctuary of healing, the patients are no longer people; they are data points in a high-stakes gamble for institutional longevity and billionaire-funded immortality.

The conspiracy strikes a devastatingly personal chord when Kaelen looks at his own fiancé, Chief Resident Dorian Sinclair. Once the hospital's golden boy, Dorian is now a man built of tremors and secrets, addicted to the very poison he administers. When Kaelen refuses to stop his investigation, the Sinclairs turn the hospital's digital infrastructure against him. Using his own credentials, they frame him for the very malpractice he's trying to expose, effectively erasing his professional life and leaving him a fugitive within the halls he once called home.

With the security team closing in and Dorian's physical and mental state spiraling toward a total collapse, Kaelen and Tamsin must navigate the decaying underbelly of the hospital to reach the board's final meeting. It is a desperate race to leak the truth to the world before the Sinclair empire can finalize its IPO and bury their crimes forever. In this claustrophobic world of medical noir, Kaelen must decide if he is willing to destroy the career he loves and the man he once planned to marry in order to salvage what remains of his soul.
