About the Book

Lake Como, Italy - Summer 1824 In the hours before dawn, when the mist still clung to Lake Como's crystalline surface and the world existed in that suspended moment between night and day, the villa held its secrets close. Villa D'Aureli rose from the water's edge like something conjured from dreams-marble terraces cascading down to meet the lake, ancient cypress trees standing sentinel against the sky, and gardens where roses climbed toward windows that had witnessed a century of whispered confidences and broken hearts. It was the sort of place where love affairs were born and destroyed with equal magnificence, where the collision between duty and desire played out against a backdrop so beautiful that even tragedy acquired the patina of art. The villa's fresco-ed walls had absorbed decades of music-formal concerts in gilt-edged drawing rooms, intimate serenades beneath moonlit balconies, and occasionally, in the depths of sleepless nights, the raw and desperate melodies that poured from souls too constrained by society's expectations to speak their truth in mere words.

About the Author :
Time To Breathe Acknowledgement: This book was inspired by three songs my husband wrote. I remember sitting with him one day, a quiet morning with coffee, when he turned to me and said, "I think these songs might be more than just music." He didn't know it then, but in that simple statement, he had already started the story. Steve did in fact start writing the story. His melodies and lyrics weren't just tunes; the were poetic lyrics. A book is never the work of one person alone. Therefore to my darling Steve, thank you for beginning this story and having the faith in me to see it through to the end of what I call our book! Finally, to you, the reader, thank you for picking up this book. I hope within these pages you find a story that resonates and perhaps, just for a moment, a quiet place to breathe.
