About the Book

Welcome to Seacastle, a neglected resort on England's south coast. Divorced, broke, and saddled with a malevolent rescue cat, Tanya Bowe has swapped investigative journalism for running a struggling vintage furniture shop. When her tech-savvy stepson, Mouse, invades her life, he's a reminder that the modern world moves faster than she does.

But life takes a darker turn when an old schoolmate is found dead in her family mansion. The police--led by Tanya's ex-husband, DI George Carter, are quick to call it an accident, but Tanya's instincts scream foul play. Determined to uncover the truth, she launches her own investigation.

As Tanya dives deeper, she must navigate a quirky cast of Seacastle locals, work around George's skepticism, and reluctantly accept Mouse's tech support--all while staying one step ahead of a killer who's ready to strike again.

Did Mel fall ... or was she pushed? And can Tanya uncover the truth before the killer strikes again?

With its perfect blend of wit, intrigue, and seaside charm, Deadly Return is a treat for fans of cozy craft and hobby mystery, realistic mysteries, and twisty whodunits.

About the Author :
From the jungles of Ecuador to the English coast, and even outer space, PJ Skinner writes fiction that digs deep. Heroines with brains and grit. A maze of secrets. And stories that won't let you go.PJ Skinner writes the bestselling cozy mystery series, the Seacastle Mysteries. She is a geologist whose global travels inspired her to write the Sam Harris Adventure series. PJ spent thirty-five years working in over thirty countries. She worked in many remote, strange, and often dangerous places. She loved every minute. This was despite encountering her fair share of misogyny and other perils. During this time, she gathered tall tales and real-life experiences that were hard to talk about in normal conversation. They lodged in her brain until she had to write them down to clear her circuits. She used these stories to write about a pioneering female geologist in an almost exclusively male world.PJ's childhood in Ireland inspired her to write the Green Family Saga next, under the name of Kate Foley. This series follows the fortunes of an English family who move to Ireland just before the start of the Troubles. PJ moved to the south coast of England just before the COVID pandemic. There she wrote Mortal Mission, a sci-fi mystery set on Mars, inspired by her fascination with all things celestial. It is a science-based murder mystery; think The Martian with fewer potatoes and more bodies. The enjoyment of writing Mortal Mission encouraged her to try writing cozy mystery. She has always been a massive fan of crime and mystery. It was inevitable she would turn her hand to a mystery series. She published Deadly Return, the first book in the Seacastle Mysteries in July 2023 to great success. Since then, she has published seven more books in the series. The Seacastle Mystery series is a contemporary cosy mystery series. It features an amateur female sleuth, her grumpy ex-husband, hacker stepson, and an ungrateful rescue cat. The ensemble cast adds banter and humour as the series follows their stories between the murder mysteries. Poison Politics, book 10 will be released on the 31st of December 2025. Esther Wane is a British actor and voice-over artist. After a career in finance Esther fulfilled a childhood dream of going to drama school in London, and her life as an actor began at age forty. She has a lifelong passion for literature and can often be found browsing bookshops at any spare moment. She owes her career in audiobooks to her impression of Joanna Lumley and has since narrated books in many genres, including memoir, politics, romantic fiction, and children's literature. She enjoys taking her listeners on a journey in time and space and bringing the characters on the page to life in their imagination. She lives with her family and collection of books in Hertfordshire, just outside London, where she has built a professional voice studio in the bottom of her garden.
