About the Author :
Deric Augustine is an accomplished actor, writer, and producer hailing from the vibrant city of New Orleans, Louisiana. His journey in the arts began as a teenager performing on stage, a passion that led him to study Theatre and Drama at the University of New Orleans. After graduation, Deric further honed his craft in New York City, training at the esteemed Negro Ensemble Company and William Esper Studio.Deric's acting career spans an impressive array of TV and film projects, including The Rookie, All American, Cloak and Dagger, Swagger, Criminal Minds, The Vampire Diaries, Shameless, Queen Sugar, Godfather of Harlem, and many more.Nawlins is Deric's highly anticipated debut novel, a labor of love over seven years in the making. The story is deeply personal, inspired by his late mother, Donna Marie Augustine, whose name graces the lead character. Through Donna Marie's journey, Deric explores themes of loss, resilience, and self-discovery, drawing from his own experiences of losing his father and caring for his mother, who suffered a stroke when he was just thirteen.With Nawlins, Deric hopes to inspire readers facing their own challenges, offering a message of hope, triumph, and the enduring power of perseverance. Jeff Manning is a Philadelphia-based graphic artist and designer whose work blends Afrofuturism, surrealism, and bold visual storytelling to create unforgettable imagery that resonates with readers and collectors alike. He began his artistic journey in high school and later earned his Associate of Science in Graphic Design from the Art Institute of Philadelphia, later collaborating with major brands and publishers across editorial, film, and book cover art. His creative style is fueled by music, culture, and emotional depth, making his designs both striking and meaningful. Elizabeth is a proofreader and copyeditor with a focus on fantasy, sci-fi, mystery, thrillers, and horror for adult, YA, and Middle Grade readers. Her experience since 2010 includes work with private clients, small publishers, and well-known brands like Hallmark and Disney. She also worked as a corporate proofreader for over a decade.
