About the Book

He's following in the footsteps of his famous ancestor as England's best sleuth. Can this modern PI beat a machine in a race to pinpoint a murderer? Present day. Sherlock Holmes proudly carries on the family tradition. Operating a well-regarded detective agency out of Baker Street with his medical doctor friend, the cynical investigator relies on intuition and observation to solve crimes. So when the lead robotics specialist for Britain's AI program is found dead and the government intervenes, he reluctantly works with a supercomputer to determine suicide or murder. Pitting his intellect against the forensic expert android, Sherlock notes persons of interest and subtle clues while trying to trip up his programmed partner. And as their vastly different methods cause them to clash, the renowned detective is shocked to realize he might have met his match in a robot... Will his determination to prove the value of the human mind let a killer slip through his grasp? Sherlock Holmes versus Artificial Intelligence is a witty piece of crime fiction. If you like informative drama, captivating twists, and classic themes, then you'll love Howard Rankin's man-against-machine mystery.

Review :
"Howard brilliantly captures the benefits and challenges of both human and artificial intelligence whiloe cleverly engaging the reader in a compelling mystery." - Dr Dean Sherzai, leading neuroscientist. "Sherlock Holmes vs. AI" is a fascinating and entertaining way to learn the latest about human brain science and the new frontier of artificial intelligence... specifically how the two are similar and how they differ. The book is an easy read with a compelling cast of characters that themselves stake out various perspectives illustrating both sides of the equation." Clint Eisenhauer, Marketing and communications expert "Sherlock Holmes vs AI. by Dr Howard Rankin is definitely one of these most intriguing, spellbinding, and mesmerizing works that I ever had the pleasure of reading. I could hardly put it down and look forward to absorbing the next chapter in my 53 years as a practicing psychotherapist, I was able to increase my knowledge of bias, artificial intelligence, dissociative, identity disorder, and neurology in general. Dr Rankin did a phenomenal job describing one of the main characters developing dissociative identity disorder, and the forensic psychologists treatment process. I really appreciated the discussion of biases, which significantly influences our ability to problem solve. And I was able to understand more clearly the potential for humans to utilize artificial intelligence, in a very positive way. In closing I have to say that Sherlock Holmes versus artificial intelligence is one of my top three books of all time. And I am sure I will enjoy reading it many additional times. It is an incredible addition to anyone's library." Dr Royce Malphrus, Clinical Psychologist "Howard's creative storytelling, blending the classic detective duo of Holmes and Watson with the world of artificial intelligence and the concept of a "faster future," indeed opens up intriguing possibilities. It's a fascinating thought experiment to imagine how the great Sherlock Holmes would tackle a case in an age dominated by AI and advanced technology. Indeed, imagining Sherlock Holmes in the age of artificial intelligence offers an exciting glimpse into a future where the timeless appeal of detective work meets the limitless potential of modern technology. It's a compelling depiction of how individuals and industries can navigate disruption and adapt to a rapidly changing world." Niki Faldemolaei, Best-selling Author, Advocate and Exponential Organization " An interesting, eye opening page turner that keeps the reader totally engaged. It also paints the many painful truths all around us unknowingly everyday everywhere in everything. " - Erline Smith
