About the Book

Pass That G.E.E. Set in New Orleans East, Pass That G.E.E. follows four students from Sarah T. Reed High School as they confront the harsh realities of life, love, and survival, while striving to pass the Graduation Exit Exam and make it out with their futures intact. Ham is on track to become the first in his family to graduate high school and attend college. But just before taking the G.E.E., he's falsely accused of murder while walking to the store, putting his entire future at risk. His best friend, G-Stripes, a determined aspiring rapper, refuses to give up on Ham, fighting to clear his name while staying focused on launching a music career. Nicole, Ham's girlfriend, is pregnant with his child and balancing the pressure of finishing school, supporting Ham, and building a better life for their unborn child. She's driven, focused, and unwilling to let her circumstances define her future. Randy, the quiet genius of the group, comes from a toxic, verbally and physically abusive home. His mother resents him for resembling the father who left, placing unfair burdens on his shoulders. Despite the pain he hides, Randy is determined to graduate at the top of his class and escape his household by earning a college scholarship. Together, these four teens face the ultimate test, proving that resilience, loyalty, and hope can push them past their environment, past expectations, and past the G.E.E.

About the Author :
With over a decade of experience in management and marketing, combined with an undying passion for community outreach and program management; Dorian Francis, A.S. in Business Administration from Delgado Community College and a B.S in Marketing from Loyola University of New Orleans has a very diverse skill set, with a strong commitment to the betterment of the citizens of his community has made him an invaluable asset to the City Of New Orleans. In this capacity, he was inspired to write and produce the book and "Movie Pass That G.E.E." In this book, Dorian Francis introduces readers to his universal code of properly using Art to educate youth. He reveals his P3 formula, which is a blueprint on teaching youth to discover and use their voices, by writing, creating and producing their own stories. The P3 formula is broken down into 3 elements: Passion + Profit = Purpose. This formula is activated when you commit to doing something you love even if you are not being paid to do it. This activation empowers youth with the ability to organically make money off their passions. When applied, this formula guides youth to discovering their purpose. Dorian Francis was born in the 3rd Ward of Uptown New Orleans. His parents were 18 years old when his father Lawrence Clark was sentenced to 7 years in Angola State Penitentiary. His mother, Adrienne Francis was pregnant with him at the same time. Many predicted Dorian would be a "menace to society" and end up dead or in prison. This view of Dorian was shaped by his father being a heroin addict and (7 times convicted felon) and his mother being a crack addict and (5 times convicted felon). His grandmother, Olga Bankston and aunt, Janel Bankston received custody of Dorian and his 2 sisters Myeshia and Dr. Meka Francis. His uncle, Melvin Francis was a powerful male figure during this difficult stage of life. This support system rerouted his life's GPS and voided the negative view of his trajectory. Dorian was able to discover his own PURPOSE and start his first PROFITABLE business at the age 20. He attained a degree in Business Management with a concentration in International Business and a degree in Business Marketing solidifying his PASSION for organizational and individual growth. Dorian's hope is that this book and his life experiences serve as a compass for youth in underserved communities across the globe. Readers will walk away with the tools to help them find their PURPOSE , discover their PASSION, and make a PROFIT while learning to pay it forward!
