Review :
Finally, we have a practical guide to help real-world school leaders navigate real-world school issues! Wanda Green and Ed Leonard have used their considerable talent and experience to thoughtfully craft a guidebook which marries brainy leadership philosophy to the sometimes unpredictable world of leadership practice. The reader is presented with realistic and challenging scenarios and given the opportunity for reflection and decision-making practice. Improving Your Leadership Intelligence is everything you didn’t learn in grad school and should be required reading for all school administrators. Wanda Green and Ed Leonard have done it again! These two individuals really understand school leadership. They have been outstanding administrators, they’ve researched leadership as highly respected university professors, and they’ve helped others to become outstanding leaders as well. Improving Your Leadership Intelligence is a great resource: insightful content, thoughtful vignettes, and terrific opportunities for reflection. This is a must for your professional library! Maulding Green and Leonard once again demonstrate their strong understanding of and research in leadership. Both authors have a history of extensive leadership across the education spectrum. Improving Your Leadership Intelligence is a valuable resource for individuals looking to enhance their own leadership skills or for individuals working to help develop other leaders. The job of the school principal is a very demanding and challenging one. Balancing the needs of the students with the hundreds of decisions one has to make each day is a daunting task, under the best of circumstances. This tool, The Leadership Intelligence Field Guide for K-12 Leaders, is a great resource for the novice and seasoned administrator alike. It provides the opportunity for a principal to discuss potential scenarios with a colleague prior to actually encountering them in person. It is relevant, helpful, and has its underpinnings in theory. In Improving your Leadership Intelligence, Drs. Maulding Green and Leonard have created an excellent guide for current and aspiring leaders. There is little dispute regarding the connection between effective leadership with teacher/school effectiveness relating to student learning and organizational health. This resource blends best practice theory such as emotional intelligence, feedback, coaching, and decision-making with practical application and practice through scenarios, to assist leaders in navigating the complex and constantly changing world of school leadership.
