Lo que distingue a Angulo como un verdadero maestro de la narrativa es la destreza con la que entrelaza múltiples elementos cómicos y dramáticos sin perder el hilo conductor. Cada escena, por disparatada que sea, surge de forma orgánica de la anterior. Por ejemplo, cuando el trío se ve obligado a escapar de la policía en el aeropuerto, acaban metiéndose por error en una boda gitana y luego en un velatorio escocés. Angulo exhibe un dominio del lenguaje que le permite cambiar de registro con facilidad, desde la prosa poética al habla coloquial madrileña. También hay un virtuosismo en la caracterización de los personajes, que son al mismo tiempo arquetipos y criaturas únicas e idiosincrásicas. Uno de los mayores logros de la novela es la humanización de personajes marginales como Luisito, un pícaro del bajo mundo madrileño con un corazón de oro. La amistad entre este y el introspectivo Agustín parece tener ecos quijotescos. También es un acierto que Angulo evite los estereotipos al retratar a los gitanos, dibujando retratos afables pero verosímiles. Las situaciones delirantes que viven los protagonistas podrían derivar en un humor absurdo vacío, pero aquí siempre revelan verdades más profundas sobre la condición humana. Cuando Agustín sufre ataques de pánico y piensa que se está muriendo, no podemos evitar identificarnos con sus miedos irracionales. Incluso los sicarios que persiguen a Marilyn tienen sus motivos ocultos. En definitiva, con "Una boda gitana y un funeral escocés" Angulo se codea con los maestros del realismo mágico sin parecer un imitador. Su prosa ágil y lírica, su imaginación desbordante y su mirada compasiva hacen de esta novela una celebración de las maravillas y miserias de la vida. Recomiendo encarecidamente adentrarse en el universo de Angulo. Aunque los elementos fantásticos parezcan improbables, sus personajes respiran con una autenticidad conmovedora. Después de leer esta novela, el mundo real se verá de forma distinta, más misterioso, más poético. En sus páginas se encierra la esencia de lo que nos hace humanos.

About the Author :
Francisco Angulo Madrid, 1976 Enthusiast of fantasy cinema and literature and a lifelong fan of Isaac Asimov and Stephen King, Angulo starts his literary career by submitting short stories to different contests. At 17 he finishes his first book - a collection of poems - and tries to publish it. Far from feeling intimidated by the discouraging responses from publishers, he decides to push ahead and tries even harder. In 2006 he published his first novel "The Relic", a science fiction tale that was received with very positive reviews. In 2008 he presented "Ecofa" an essay on biofuels, whereAngulorecounts his experiences in the research project he works on. In 2009 he published "Kira and the Ice Storm".A difficultbut very productive year, in2010 he completed "Eco-fuel-FA", a science book in English. He also worked on several literary projects: "The Best of 2009-2010", "The Legend of Tarazashi 2009-2010", "The Sniffer 2010", "Destination Havana 2010-2011" and "Company No.12". He currently works as director of research at the Ecofa project. Angulo is the developer of the first 2nd generation biofuel obtained from organic waste fed bacteria. He specialises in environmental issues and science-fiction novels. His expertise in the scientific field is reflected in the innovations and technological advances he talks about in his books, almost prophesying what lies ahead, as Jules Verne didin his time.
