About the Book

The Bellamy family has four months before they'll lose the roof over their heads. While Phoebe's older sisters venture out into the world to earn the necessary funds, Phoebe herself stays home to care for her younger siblings and parents. But then she meets Viscount Needham, a wealthy new peer, and everything changes.

When Phoebe learns that her father is determined to marry one of his daughters to Needham, she knows it's time to act. She can't imagine saddling any of her sisters with the brutally handsome upstart. So, she does the unthinkable and proposes to Viscount Needham herself ...

Paul Needham attended the best schools, belongs to all the proper clubs, and can buy and sell half the House of Lords and still have money to spare. Yet the ton still treats him with disdain. Marrying one of their own is the fastest way to legitimize his place in society. But that doesn't mean that he has to like his bride. Their marriage will be nothing but a mutually beneficial business arrangement.

Except it doesn't feel like a transaction when Phoebe is in his arms ...

They are complete opposites with nothing in common. Is love enough to bridge their two worlds?

Contains mature themes.

About the Author :
Minerva Spencer's brief author bio will tell you she has been a criminal prosecutor, college history teacher, and B&B operator. What it doesn't tell you is she also worked as a dock worker, ice cream manufacturer, reader for the blind, motel maid, and bounty hunter. Okay, so the part about being a bounty hunter is a lie. Minerva does, however, know how to hypnotize a Dungeness crab, sew her own Regency Era clothing, knit a frog hat, juggle, rebuild a 1959 American Rambler, and gain control of Asia (and hold on to it) in the game of RISK. Minerva loves writing historical romances that feature uncommon heroes and heroines in unusual and challenging situations. When Minerva isn't beavering away on her next book she plays with her dogs and many rescue birds, buys too many beads and too much yarn, and spends time fixing up her old adobe house with her wonderful, tolerant husband. Minerva also writes historical romance, historical erotic romance, and science fiction romance under the name S. M. LaViolette, and historical detective stories under S. M. Goodwin. S. M. LaViolette also writes historical romance under the name Minerva Spencer and historical mystery under the name S. M. Goodwin. Unlike many authors, S. M. hasn't wanted to be a writer since she was knee-high to a grasshopper. In fact, she's a very late bloomer and didn't write her first book until she was forty-five. That book, Dangerous, came out in 2018, the year S. M. turned 50. She is living proof that it is never too late to try something brand new. Since 2018 she has published fifteen books and two novellas, one which is included in an anthology with mega bestselling author Sylvia Day. S. M. has worked as a college history teacher, bed and breakfast owner, criminal prosecutor, and bartender (her favorite job next to writing). S. M. now writes full time and lives with her husband and multiple animals in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. When she's not writing she's cleaning out chicken coops, crafting, or reading. Gabrielle Baker is a highly respected and experienced British voice actor with her own studio at her home in Kent, England. A trained actor, she has become a bestselling audiobook narrator for award-winning authors around the world. Gabrielle has a natural RP British accent and is also experienced with accents such as Dublin, Cork, Scottish, Australian, and most regional British accents. More than anything Gabrielle describes herself as a "storyteller," and her love and passion for audiobooks has seen her rise in the industry over the last few years. She has a strong following of listeners and authors who seek out her work, and she has been described as " . . . an auditory joy!"
