As the weather turns bitterly cold in the dark days of November 1941, fewer pigeons are being conscripted for missions into occupied Europe and Olive fears her covert program may be dropped altogether. She is a self-professed connoisseur of British mysteries of all sorts and has done extensive research on the little-known role of pigeons during World War II, as well as the Special Operations Executive, particularly their school for sabotage, Station XVII: Brickendonbury Manor.
