Diane Wiessinger is an American breastfeeding advocate, author, and researcher. She is coauthor, with Diana West, Linda Smith, and Teresa Pitman, of La Leche League International's Sweet Sleep Nighttime and Naptime Strategies for the Breastfeeding Family. Diana West is an international board certified lactation consultant in private practice in New Jersey. She is the author of Defining Your Own Success and coauthor of Sweet Sleep. La Leche League International is the most trusted name in breastfeeding information, support, and advocacy. Founded in 1956 by seven intrepid women, La Leche League now has more than 7,000 accredited leaders in sixty-eight countries, and offers phone, online, and in-person consultation to breastfeeding mothers. Linda J. Smith has been a lactation consultant, childbirth educator, and public speaker for more than forty years. She holds a master's degree in public health, is an adjunct instructor in the Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University in Dayton Ohio, and is the author of four professional textbooks on birth and breastfeeding.
