About the Book

They survived the meteor strike. They did not return home.

Aaron Cole and the other survivors emerge from the classified experiment carrying injuries that should have vanished when the scenario ended. The waiting room is gone. The American flag bears a single star. Britain has disappeared from the map, replaced by an administrative territory called Albion.

In this altered Berlin, the Imperial Union governs through civic order, surveillance and the careful correction of history. Old national symbols are prohibited. Sovereignty is treated as extremism. Even the survivors' wounds have been absorbed into a bureaucracy that appears to know more about their condition than they do.

Then Aaron presents his British passport.

Within minutes, his identity becomes a security threat and his face connects him to Nathaniel Crowe, a dead resistance figure whose name still carries power throughout the city.

Drawn into an underground movement preparing to strike at the heart of Imperial authority, Aaron and the others must learn the rules of a world built on occupation, erased memory and political fear. Their instructions have returned through the local communications network, adopting the language of the regime and the resistance alike, yet following them may trigger consequences far beyond their own survival.

The Imperial Union is oppressive. The resistance is desperate. Neither side offers a clean choice.

As Berlin moves towards violence, the survivors must decide whether they are disrupting an authoritarian system, helping create a catastrophe or being calibrated to produce an outcome they still cannot understand.

Mandate Event is Book Two of Calibration Cycle, a character-driven psychological science-fiction series blending alternate reality, political suspense, moral uncertainty and the progressive distortion of reality.

Completion carried them into this world.

There is no reason to believe it will carry them home.
