Is it Love...Or Hate?
At eleven years old, Emma expected sixth grade to bring the usual challenges of adolescence-new classes, changing friendships, and the awkward journey toward growing up. What she didn't expect was the arrival of the Vale twins.
Lucas and Adrian Vale couldn't be more different despite sharing the same face. Lucas is loud, persistent, and impossible to ignore. From the moment he meets Emma, he seems determined to make himself a permanent fixture in her life, following her into every conversation, argument, and adventure. Adrian, on the other hand, lingers quietly in the background. Shy and observant, his presence is less obvious but somehow far more unsettling. While Lucas tests Emma's patience, Adrian has an uncanny ability to leave her flustered with a single glance.
The connection between Emma and the twins isn't the typical adolescent friendship that forms overnight. Their lives are intertwined long before they truly know one another. Ethan, Emma's mom longtime friend son, grew up alongside the twins because his mother, Rebecca, cared for them when they were younger. Rebecca being Emma's mother's best friend, creating ties between the families that neither Emma nor the twins fully understand.
Then there is Nathan, who meets the twins by chance during the summer before sixth grade, setting off a chain of events that pulls everyone closer together from sixth grade to senior graduation.
As Emma navigates the confusing world of adolescence, she finds herself caught in the chaos the Vale twins bring into her life. Lucas constantly pushes his way into her world, while Adrian quietly occupies more of her thoughts than she wants to admit. Friendships are tested, emotions become complicated, and every interaction leaves Emma questioning what she feels.
Are the sparks between them born from affection or frustration?
Attraction or rivalry?
With every passing year, the question remains the same:
Is it love or hate?
