Déconstruire les mensonges, les préjugés et la haine Un jour, alors que je présentais un scénario à une productrice française, elle m'a lancé, presque comme une évidence: "Les Syriens sont très antisémites". Cette accusation frontale a provoqué en moi un électrochoc. Il fallait alors comprendre, explorer mes propres souvenirs, et questionner la culture dans laquelle j'avais grandi. Dans la première partie, je reviens sur mon enfance en Syrie, imprégnée par les récits et les clichés du conflit israélo-arabe. Je raconte mes années de formation en France, où j'ai commencé à déconstruire les préjugés appris dès l'enfance. Entre souvenirs et réflexions, cette quête intime me pousse à revisiter les événements marquants qui ont forgé mon regard sur Israël, ses habitants et mes ennemis désignés. Mais ce n'était pas suffisant. Il fallait aller plus loin: partir à la rencontre de ceux qui m'étaient interdits. Dans la deuxième partie, je pars enfin en Israël, ce pays à la fois interdit et fascinant. Que peut ressentir un Syrien, élevé dans le rejet, en débarquant à Tel-Aviv ? Ce voyage devient bien plus qu'un carnet de route: c'est une immersion dans une société vibrante, complexe, et bien différente de l'image monolithique que j'en avais. Des rencontres inattendues, des conversations passionnées, et des lieux emblématiques d'Israël m'amènent à confronter mes souvenirs à une autre réalité. Tout se passe avant les terribles massacres du 7 octobre. Ce livre est une réflexion sur la déconstruction de la haine et un appel à reconnaître l'humanité de l'autre, même dans l'adversité. Sans prétendre offrir des solutions, l'auteur, à travers son cheminement personnel, explore comment dépasser les certitudes et les pensées qui nourrissent cette haine. C'est un acte d'espoir, affirmant que, malgré les conflits et les blessures, un espace pour le dialogue, la rencontre, la compréhension mutuelle demeure possible.
