About the Book

This book systematically discusses the workability, mechanical properties, water stability, and material design methods of ultra-high ductility magnesium phosphate cement-based composites (UHDMC) with PVA fibers, PE fibers, or hybrid fibers. The developed UHDMC possesses strain-hardening behavior, multi-cracking, and ultra-high ultimate tensile strain, which can be used in many engineering projects, such as rapid repair and strengthening of airport runways, roads, bridges, and military installations. Meanwhile, this book covers the development of sprayable UHDMC, which further expands the application scope of UHDMC. This book is expected to provide some technical guidance for the development and design of UHDMC. The book is intended for graduate students who are interested in the ductility improvement of magnesium phosphate cement-based composites, researchers investigating the mechanical properties (strength, toughness, etc.), water stability, microstructure, and sprayabilityof magnesium phosphate cement-based composites, and engineers working on rapid repair of concrete structures.

Table of Contents:
Chapter 1. Fundamental performance of PVA fiber reinforced UHDMC.- Chapter 2. Fundamental performance of hybrid fiber reinforced UHDMC.- Chapter 3. Water stability of PVA-UHDMC.- Chapter 4. Performance improvement of PVA-UHDMC using fly ash and silica fume.- Chapter 5. Development of PE fiber reinforced UHDMC.- Chapter 6. Preparation and performance of sprayable UHDMC.

About the Author :
Dr. Hu Feng received his bachelor’s degree from Zhengzhou University, China, in 2004; master’s degree from Zhengzhou University, China, in 2007; and Ph.D. degree from Tongji University, China, in 2010. Since then, Dr. Feng has been at School of Civil Engineering, Zhengzhou University, as a professor. Dr. Feng focuses on the research of fiber reinforced composite materials and structures and new types of prefabricated structures. He has received fundings from National Natural Science Foundation and Science and Technology Project of Henan Province. So far, he has published more than 40 peer-reviewed technical papers in high-level journals and has been authorized multiple invention patents. He serves as the deputy director of "Fiber Composite Building Materials and Structures", Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of Education; "New Urban Building Technology", Collaborative Innovation Center of Henan Province; and "Green Composite Building Materials and Structures", International Joint Laboratory of Henan Province. He is a member of several academic institutes: Fiber Reinforced Concrete Special Committee of China Civil Engineering Society, Civil Engineering Composite Materials Branch of China Composite Materials Society, and American Society of Civil Engineers. He is also an editorial member of Sustainable Structures journal. Dr. Aofei Guo received his bachelor’s degree from Henan University of Technology, China, in 2013; master’s degree from Hunan University, China, in 2016; and Ph.D. degree from University of Louisville, USA, in 2020. Since May 2021, Dr. Guo has been at School of Civil Engineering, Zhengzhou University, as an associate research professor. Dr. Guo focuses on the research of the modification of lignocellulosic biomass (including nanocellulose), its application in cement-based composites, and the development and design of high-ductility magnesium phosphate cement-based composites. He has received fundings from NationalNatural Science Foundation, China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, and Natural Science Foundation of Henan Province. So far, he has published more than 20 peer-reviewed technical papers in high-level journals including Cement and Concrete Composites, Industrial Crops and Products, Construction and Building Materials, etc. He is a member of the first Young Editorial Members of Sustainable Structures journal and also serves as a reviewer for many international journals. Dr. Jun Zhao obtained his master's degree from Zhengzhou University in 1996 and his Ph.D. from Harbin Institute of Technology in 2000. He was a visiting scholar at Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan, and at the University of Florida, USA. He is a professor and has been working at Zhengzhou University for many years. Dr. Zhao’s main research interests include green building materials and structures, disaster prevention and reduction in engineering structures, damage controllable and recoverable seismic structures, high-performance concrete and structure, and key technological applications in engineering. He has led multiple projects such as key projects of the National Key R&D Program for International Scientific and Technological Innovation Cooperation, Innovative Talent International Cooperation Training Projects of the China Scholarship Council, and projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has published nearly 200 academic papers, authored 6 books, and co-edited 4 national (industry) standards. He has been awarded the National Science and Technology Progress Second Prize and the First, Second, and Third Prizes in Scientific and Technological Progress from the Ministry of Education or in Henan Province. Dr. Zhao is a national-level mid-young expert with outstanding contributions, selected for the "Talents Project" at the national level, and an expert receiving special government allowances from the State Council, recognized by the Ministry of Educationas part of the New Century Talents Project. He is the head of the Ministry of Education's Innovative Team for New Building Materials and Structures, the executive deputy director of the Engineering Research Center for Fiber Composite Building Materials and Structures under the Ministry of Education.
