About the Book

This book presents select proceedings of the International Conference on Recent Advances in Structural Engineering (RAISE 2024). It covers the developments in structural engineering with a particular focus on building materials relevant to sustainable development. The book delves into three main themes - advanced construction materials, repair and rehabilitation, and interdisciplinary research areas. It also emphasizes the significant applications of the developments under these themes in sustainable environments, fire resistance, and long durable concrete structures. This book also provides in-depth technical discussions and hence it will be a valuable resource for researchers and professionals alike.

Table of Contents:
Development of Low-Environmental-Impact Ultra-High-Performance Concrete Incorporating Microfine and Industrial Wastes.- Effect of Mineral addition on properties of cement mortar with PET Polmer.- Evaluation of effectiveness of Fly ash as filler in biopolymer mortar.- Impact of Hemp Fiber on Mechanical and Durability Characteristics of Bacterial-Based Cement Mortar.- Biochar as a Sustainable Material For Mortar.- A Comparison Study on Mechanical Properties by Using Polyesters and Polypropylene Fiber Concrete.- Torsional Strengthening of Fire Damaged Concrete Beam Using Stainless Steel Wire Mesh [SSWM].- Influence of ground granulated blast furnace slag on fracture parameters of sustainable concrete.- Experimental study on the spalling behavior of high-performance concrete at elevated temperature.- Evaluation of Corrosion Resistance of Steel Reinforcement in Simulated Concrete Pore Solution Using Electrochemical Tests.- Numerical analysis of FRP retrofitted short RC square columns under uniaxial compressive load.- Stiffness Evaluation of Recycled Aggregate Concrete Beam Subjected To Torsion.- Reinventing Water Tank Construction with Ferrocement Technology using Geopolymer Matrix with Natural Fibres.
