About the Book

This book presents select proceedings of the International Conference on Sustainable Infrastructure: Innovations, Challenges and Opportunities (SIIOC 2024). It delves into topics including but not limited to the performance of concrete, bricks and blocks manufactured with non-organic industrial wastes and the manufacture by unfired processes, the behaviour of masonry and RC buildings under earthquakes, bamboo for construction, composites for construction and finite element simulations on buildings and special structures. The book presents various facets of experiments to characterise the properties of construction materials and the intricacies involved in performing finite element simulations to assess the response of buildings under seismic and wind loading conditions. This book serves as a valuable resource for budding researchers and industry professionals interested in developing solutions for sustainable building habitats.

Table of Contents:
Development of Micro Silica based Concrete.- A Novel Hybrid Model for Predicting Strength Characteristics in Fibre-Reinforced Geopolymer Concrete Based on Extreme Gradient Boosting and Particle Swarm Optimization.-  Study on the Development and Assessment of Cement Mortar using Agrowastes- A Sustainable Approach.-  Comparison of the embodied energy of traditional lime mortar and modern cement-based mortars.
