About the Author :
Dr. Manjula Siriwardhana is attached to the National Engineering Research and Development Centre of Sri Lanka as a Principal Research Engineer. She earned her PhD from the Australian National University (ANU), Canberra, ACT, Australia. Her research interests include renewable energy, climate change, energy management, energy project evaluation, GHG quantification, climate resilient green growth and Carbon neutrality. She has published her research in highly cited journals and received multiple awards and recognitions.
Prof. Sivanappan Kumar is with the Faculty of Engineering, Naresuan University, Thailand. He is also an Emeritus Professor at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand. With over three decades of academic experience, he has been involved in teaching, research, training, and outreach in the fields of renewable energy, climate change, greenhouse gas mitigation and sustainable development. He has held several senior academic and administrative positions. His research interests include renewable energy resource assessment, solar thermal and photovoltaic technologies, energy efficiency in buildings and industries, greenhouse gas mitigation technologies, low carbon and smart cities, and Sustainable Development Goals.
Dr. Madhusanka Liyanage is an Associate Professor/Ad Astra Fellow at University College Dublin, Ireland, and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Oulu, Finland. He has held visiting positions at leading institutions, including the University of Oxford, Lancaster University, UK, Sorbonne University, France, University of New South Wales (UNSW), University of Sydney, and CSIRO, Australia. His research interests are in the areas of cybersecurity, 6G networks, and privacy-preserving AI. Dr. Liyanage has authored over 250 publications, including seven books, in cybersecurity, 6G networks, and privacy-preserving AI. In 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024, he was ranked among the world's top 2% of scientists. Currently, he is the director of Network Softwarization and Security Labs (NetsLab).
Dr. Jayathu G. Samarawickrama is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Electronic & Telecommunication Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in the field of humanoid robotics from the University of Genova and the Italian Institute of Technology in Italy. He worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Genova, Italy, for one year on a European Union-funded project. Currently, he is a Director General at the at National Engineering Research and Development Centre of Sri Lanka, located in the Industrial Estate, Ekala, Ja Ela, Sri Lanka. His research interests are in the areas of Humanoids/Robotics, Electronic Systems, FPGA/DSP/GPU based systems, Embedded Systems, Computational Vision, Stereo Vision, Vision Heads.
Dr. Iresha Udayangani Atthanayake is a Senior Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering at the Open University of Sri Lanka. She holds a PhD in Fluid Mechanics from the University of Warwick, specializing in rotating flow and particle image velocimetry. With extensive research experience, her work focuses on computational fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and sustainable energy solutions.
Dr. Sumudu Samarakoon received his Ph.D. in communications engineering from the University of Oulu, Finland. He is currently an Assistant Professor with the Centre for Wireless Communications, University of Oulu. His main research interests are in heterogeneous networks, radio resource management, machine learning at the wireless edge, and game theory.
