About the Book

This book presents select proceedings of the 3rd World Congress on Condition Monitoring (WCCM 2024). It examines condition-monitoring methods, including vibration, acoustics, optics, electromagnetism, infrared thermal imaging, guided waves, stress, etc. The topics covered include signal detection and processing, condition monitoring instrumentation and methods, diagnosis, assessment and prediction, and advanced condition monitoring technology. This book also discusses the various applications of condition monitoring in components and equipment across different industries. This book is a valuable reference for researchers and professionals interested in condition monitoring and allied fields.

About the Author :
Gongtian Shen is a professor of China Special Equipment Inspection and Research Institute (CSEI). He is also the president of the Chinese Society for NDT (ChSNDT), a honorary president of International Society on Acoustic Emission (ISAE), the chairman of Acoustic Emission Testing Committee of International Organization for Standardization (ISO/TC135/SC9), the president of Chinese Standardization Technical Committee for NDT (SAC/TC56), and the president of Chinese Standardization Technical Committee for Ropeway and Amusement Facilities (SAC/TC250). He has for long been engaged in the research of special equipment manufacturing, quality and operational safety detection monitoring, evaluation technology research and instrument system development and engineering applications. Len Gelman, Ph.D., Dr. of Sciences (Habilitation) joined University of Huddersfield as a professor, a chair in signal processing/condition monitoring, and the director of Centre for Efficiency and Performance Engineering, in 2017 from Cranfield University, where he worked as a professor and chair in vibro-acoustical monitoring since 2002. Dr Len developed novel condition/health monitoring technologies for aircraft engines, gearboxes, bearings, turbines, compressors and composite/concrete materials and structures. He has published more than 250 publications, 17 patents and is co-editor of 14 Springer books. Dr Len is the editor-in-chief of the book series Condition Monitoring, Cooxmoor, Oxford, UK, Editor, Journal of Asian Scientific Research, the associate editor, International Journal Sensors, the associate editor, International Journal Signal, Image and Video Processing, Springer, and the associate editor, International Journal of Complex Engineering Systems. Bin Hu is a professor of China Special Equipment Inspection and Research Institute (CSEI). He is also the vice secretary general of China Society of non-destructive testing, the chairman of condition monitoring professional conference, a member of International Acoustic Emission society, member of International Society for Condition Monitoring. He has been engaged in theoretical research and engineering application in acoustic, electromagnetic, and other non-destructive testing monitoring and intelligent testing for a long time. He has founded by one national key R & D plan, one general project of National Natural Science Foundation, and more than 10 projects, and has guided the research and application of TOFD, magnetic memory, magnetic leakage, and other new technologies in China. Junjiao Zhang is a senior engineer of China Special Equipment Inspection and Research Institute (CSEI). She is also the committee manager of ISO/TC135/SC9 (acoustic emission testing), an archivist of International Society on Acoustic Emission (ISAE), a member of the Chinese Society for NDT (ChSNDT), a member of Chinese Standardization Technical Committee for NDT (SAC/TC56). Since 2012, employed by CSEI working on the research and application of non-destructive testing and evaluation including in acoustic emission testing, ultrasonic testing, leakage testing, and other conventional non-destructive testing methods for special equipment such as pressure vessel, pressure piping, crane, amusement device, and rope way. She has presided over or participated in over 15 national or provincial scientific research projects, won 7 provincial and ministerial science and technology awards, developed 7 international (ISO) standards and 20 national and industry standards, and published more than 30 academic papers.
