About the Book

This book focuses on the tribology of marine sliding bearings. It extensively investigates the lubrication characteristics of two special forms of marine sliding bearings including journal-thrust coupled bearings for diesel engine crankshafts and double-layer oil film floating bushings for diesel engine fuel supply mechanisms. Building upon conventional theories of lubrication in sliding bearings, the book considers the unique operational conditions and structural features of these bearings. It creatively proposes respective lubrication mechanisms for each type of bearing, which are then experimentally validated.Furthermore, the book conducts comprehensive analyses of the lubrication performance of these bearings. The book is intended for undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in tribology and lubrication technology, researchers investigating lubrication model, and structure design engineers working on marine bearing.

Table of Contents:
.- Overview of Journal-Thrust Coupled Bearings for Diesel Engine Crankshafts.- Steady-state Thermal Elastic Hydrodynamic Lubrication and Dynamic Characteristics of Journal-Thrust Coupled Bearings.- Transient Lubrication and Dynamic Characteristics Analysis of Crankshaft Journal-Thrust Coupled Bearings under Real Engine Load Conditions.- Optimization design for Journal-thrust Couple Bearing Surface Texture Based On Particle Swarm Algorithm.- Overview of Double-layer Oil Film Floating Bushings for Diesel Engine Fuel Supply Mechanisms.- Steady-state Thermal Elastic Hydrodynamic Lubrication and Dynamic Characteristics of Double-layer Oil Film Floating Bushings.- Transient Thermal Elastic Hydrodynamic Lubrication and Time-varying Dynamic Characteristics of Double-layer Oil Film Floating Bushings.- Optimization Design of Lubrication Performance for Floating Bushing in Diesel Engine Fuel Supply Mechanisms.
