About the Book

This book, in combination with the latest development of power batteries for electrical vehicles, elaborates on the working principle of high-voltage relays, failure modes, and breakpoint tests, as well as the characteristics of both hardware and software components of the battery management system such as electromagnetic compatibility and test methods from the perspective of power battery design and application in the vehicle environment. It serves as a prelude to the subsequent introduction of the charging of power batteries, the estimation of the state of charge (SOC) and state of health (SOH) of the batteries, as well as the thermal management in high and low temperature environments. Moreover, it provides a detailed introduction to the possible failure modes of power batteries under various functions and the relevant tests that need to be carried out. The book focuses on the safety management of power batteries, the working principles of various fuel cells, and the vehicle control strategies. Finally, it analyzes the prediction methods and applications of the remaining life of power batteries in response to the failure modes mentioned previously. The content of this book is novel, enabling readers to quickly grasp the new technologies of power battery management for electrical vehicles. This book can serve as a reference material for undergraduate students majoring in electrical vehicles and practitioners in the electrical vehicle industry. It can also be used as an auxiliary textbook for colleges and universities to help students understand the power battery management technology.
