Professor (Dr.) Kaushal Kumar Misra received his Ph.D. Horticulture degree in the year 1986 from Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar-263145, U.K. He did his post doctorate degree from V. P. I. and State University, Blacksburg, Virginia, U.S.A. during 1989.He started his career as Senior Research Assistant on June 08, 1974 from Pantnagar. He was selected as Junior Research Officer, Horticulture on April1, 1978. He was selected as Senior Research Officer / Associate Professor, Horticulture on April 1, 1991. Dr. Misra was promoted as Professor, Horticulture on July 27,1998. He was Officer In charge at Research Station, Sui, Lohaghat District Pithoragarh, U.P. from January 12, 1992 to March 31, 1994, then again as Associate Director/Joint Director at H.R.C., Patharchatta from November 19, 1997 to July 15, 1999. He was selected as Head of Department of Horticulture from November 1, 2004 to December 18, 2005 and September 30, 2006 to June01, 2009. He published 40 books, 213 research papers, 15 review papers,150 popular articles and more than do zone of book chapters in review books to his credits. He was awarded Dr. Rajendra Prasad Puruskar, 1984 from I.C.A.R., New Delhi, awarded by Man of Year 1997-1999 by ABI, North Carolina (U.S.A.), conferred, ISHRD Fellowship in September, 2004 from Indian Society of Horticultural Research and Development, Uttarakhand, Best Citizen of India Awards, 2006 and2010, New Delhi and fellowship from Horticultural Society of India award, 2013. Eighteen Ph. D. and fourteen M.Sc. (Ag.) Horticulture students received his / her degree under his guidance. He has got 45 years of experience of teaching, research and extension education.
