About the Author :
Prof. Deepak Kher is presently working as Director Planning & Monitoring in SKUASTJ. He did his M.Sc. (Soil Science) from Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana in 1983 and Ph.D from CSK HPKV, Palampur in 1987 and a recipient of University Gold Medal. Dr. Kher has also served as officiating Director Research in SKUASTJammu. He has 30 years of experience in teaching, research and planning and has guided many PG students. He has more than 55 research papers in national and international journals of repute. Dr. Narinder Panotra, (b. 1975 ) presently, working as Jr. Scientist (Sr. Scale) in the Regional Agricultural Research Station, Rajouri, ShereKashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu. He did Ph.D in Agronomy (Weed Science) in 2007 and started his career as a Research Associate (Agronomy) in IIFSR, Modipuram in December 2007. He Joined as Jr. Scientist (Agronomy) at SKUASTKashmir in 2009. He has experience for over 10 years in teaching, research and extension work in the field of Agronomy and soil science. He guided one research student for postgraduate degree in Agronomy. His research interest includes sustainable agriculture production, seed production, organic crop production, organic crop protection and research management. Having experience of participatory onfarm research on System of Rice Intensification and Organic Basmati based cropping system. He received many awards and published more than 50 research articles in reputed national and international journals/ magazines and 10 book chapters in different aspects of agriculture. Dr. Satish K. Sharma, presently working as Incharge, Seed Production Farm Chakroi, SKUAST Jammu, RS Pura, Directorate of Research, ShereKashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Jammu. He has completed his M.Sc in Agriculture Biochemistry from AAI Allahabad U.P. and Ph.D. in Agriculture (Plant Biochemistry), from SHIATS Allahabad U.P. Joined as Assistant Professor / Junior Scientist (Biochemistry) 2008, in Biotechnology Centre, Faculty of Agriculture, SKUAST, Jammu Main Campus Chatha Jammu, J&K.
