About the Book

About the Author :
S. Vasudevan is Assistant Professor of Earth Sciences, Annamalai University, India. He obtained his Ph.D. inApplied Geology from Annamalai University. His research programmes are supported by UGC, DST andMSSRF. By his excellence in his chosen field he was awarded with INSA Fellowship during, 2010. He is anexpert in analysing and integrating the spatial information system through GIS techniques. He has beenidentified as conscientious teacher vested with the responsibility as Coordinator for M.Sc., GeoinformaticsProgramme. He has published more than 30 articles in reputed journals and is the author of five books inrelated aspects. C.V. Nishikanth holds a Master degree in Geoinformatics from Annamalai University, India. He has been aGIS Instructor and workplace trainer, with an extensive background in Geospatial technology training andpreparing course resources. He has been specialized in teaching ESRI Products including Desktop GIS, Serverenvironment and Databases, also experienced in educating Open source GIS Suite. Geoserver, PostGIS,PostgreSQL, ArcGIS Server are also the major areas that he has focused on training. He has also been anEducator for UNIGIS program provided by University of Salzburg, Austria. Anu Nishikanth is a Geospatial Analyst in WS Atkins, Bangalore since 2010, with a strong educationbackground in GIS, she specializes in both ESRI Desktop and Opensource GIS Desktop products. Herexperience of teaching involves real-world examples which make the learners to have a superiorunderstanding of the real world. T. Ramkumar is Professor of Earth Sciences, Annamalai University, India. He obtained Master’s Degree fromAnnamalai University as well as from University of Nottingham, U.K. He got specialized training in the fieldof Remote Sensing from IIRS, Dehradun. He is the winner of the British Overseas Administrative Scholarshipfor his higher studies in U.K. He specializes in Remote Sensing and GIS in the field of Hydrogeology,Sedimentology and Coastal Processes. His research programmes are supported by DST, UGC, MOES, etc. Hehas published more than 35 papers in the international and national journals and serving as member inmany academic bodies in India and abroad.
