About the Book

The events of the last years have shaken the world of higher education. The post-COVID-19 period has raised multiple questions in key areas, from digitalisation over quality assurance to internationalisation. This book brings together scholars, practitioners and policymakers in higher education, and discusses in a variety of topics the future of the higher education sector in a rapidly changing context: the complexities of digital education, the need or necessity for innovation or the impact of globalisation are some of the topics addressed in this book. Those topics are brought together around one central theme: how can the future of higher education be accelerated to address in a sustainable way the needs of a changing global context? About the Author :
Bruno Broucker, PhD, is guest professor at the KU Leuven and higher education policy advisor at the Institute of Tropical Medicine. He is a member of the Executive Committee of EAIR and Series Editor of the book series Higher Education: Linking Research, Policy and Practice. Clare Milsom is academic registrar at the Liverpool John Moore University. She is a National Teaching Fellow and is involved in the QAA review of the Higher Education credit framework for England. Clare has worked in higher education for over twenty years and is known for her work on the evaluation of survey qualitative data. James Calleja, PhD, is lecturer in Leadership for Learning and Innovation at the University of Malta. His research interests are Continuing Professional Development (CPD), Lesson Study, Mathematics Education, Inquiry-based Learning, and Professional Develpment Programme Design. Mark O'Hara, PhD, is Associate Dean (Student Learning Experience & Quality Enhancement) at Birmingham City University, and Associate Pro Vice Chancellor (Education) at Aston University.
