About the Book

We are living today in a multicultural world, surrounded by people from different backgrounds, cultures and religions. Establishing tolerance and peace has become crucial. Without these qualities, social stability and communal harmony are threatened; and acceptance of each other remains elusive.

About the Author :
Dr. EL Zein, Director General of Governance and Sustainability Center, at (UBT), Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. She held many positions such as Dean of Scientific Research at UBT, research scientist at KAUST, faculty member at Dar AL Hekma University and associate researcher at IEMN, France. She is currently the vice president of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace for scientific and academic affairs. Her research interest is currently in Energy Conversion and Energy Storage. The main objective of Dr. El Zein research is to develop an eco- green Solar Cells with high efficiency and long durability. In addition, she is exploring new materials such as kesterite, perovskite, and protein to be used as a light absorber for Solid State Sensitized Solar Cells. She is also exploring Printed Metal Oxide Batteries. She has a textbook entitled "Nanostructured materials for Photovoltaic applications" and she has many publications in this field. Additionally, she published in many international journals and has one patent filed in the USA related to materials for Solar Cells. Dr. El Zein is a grand Judge reviewer and examiner in many international associations and a renowned guest speaker at many international conferences on renewable energy and nanotechnology. She is a reviewer for many inter- national, peer-reviewed journals, the chair or co-chair and on committees of different international conferences. Dr. El Zein is a senior member of IEEE, member of ACS, MRS, SPIE, ECS, IET, AUTM, AAAS, AASBC, ECS and Lebanese Engineering Syndicate. Dr. Basma graduated from the University of Lille, France with a Ph.D. in Nanotechnology Engineering with High Distinction for her research Zinc Oxide Nanostructures for Photovoltaic Applications. Her master's degree was from the Lebanese University, Lebanon in the field of Electrical and Electronics Engineering with Distinction. Dr. El Zein was acknowledged for her remarkable contribution to the field of research, teaching, community service, and industry in Saudi Arabia, and she was granted 2 funded research for her research on Nanomaterials for 3rd generation Solar Cells in 2013 and 2014. Raised on the teachings of peaceful co-existence, Ahmed Bin Mohammed Al Jarwan is the president and founder of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace in Malta since 2017 and president of the Arab Experts Union since 2018. Earlier, he was president of the Arab Parliament from 2012 to 2016, member of the Federal National Council of the UAE from 2011 to 2018, member of the board of directors of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry from 2008 to 2012, and founder and manager of Sharjah Old Cars Club and Museum from 2007 to 2012. Mr. Al Jarwan played a significant role in tolerance, peace and rela- tionship with the United Nations, UNESCO and the Arab League. He was a key player and essential participant in all activities of international organizations and in national and international parliamentarians' meetings, receiving great recognition from dignitaries worldwide. He earned the 2020 Mahatma Gandhi International Award and has been recognized by the leaders of such countries as Russia, Colombia, Argentina, Albania, Kosovo, Dji- bouti, Comoros and Lebanon for his achievements regarding human rights, tolerance, peace, sustainable development, and women and youth rights. Looking forward, Mr. Al Jarwan is raising the value of tolerance and spreading the culture of peace, fighting discrimination, violence, terrorism and racism, and strengthening principles of tolerance to achieving peace. He intends to continue advocating for humanitarian issues and being a great Emirati role model, reflecting the successful Emirati culture that supports tolerance and peace.
