El vizcaíno fingido es un entremés de Miguel de Cervantes. Su argumento construye un mundo de engaño y manipulación, temas recurrentes en la obra cervantina. La trama sigue a Solórzano y Quiñones, quienes conspiran para burlarse de una mujer sevillana. La obra se inicia con un diálogo entre estos dos personajes, donde Solórzano, el presunto "vizcaíno," invita a Quiñones a participar en su plan. El debate ético entre los dos hombres acerca de la legitimidad de engañar a una mujer establece el tono moral de la obra. La intriga aumenta cuando entran en escena Doña Cristina y Doña Brígida. La última está visiblemente perturbada, lo que añade un elemento de misterio y tensión. Sin embargo, su inquietud no está relacionada con el plan de Solórzano, lo que deja al lector o espectador en expectativa sobre cómo se entrelazarán las vidas de estos personajes. El vizcaíno fingido destaca por la agudeza psicológica con que Cervantes traza sus personajes. Solórzano y Quiñones representan dos caras de la moneda en cuanto a la moralidad de sus acciones. El vizcaíno fingido es una obra breve pero impactante que ofrece una visión compleja de las relaciones humanas y los dilemas éticos que surgen del engaño y la manipulación. Aunque la obra está ambientada en el Siglo de Oro español, los temas que aborda son universales, lo que demuestra una vez más la genialidad atemporal de Cervantes.

Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra (Alcala de Henares, 1547-Madrid, 1616). Espana. Hijo de Rodrigo Cervantes, cirujano, y Leonor de Cortina. Se sabe muy poco de su infancia y adolescencia. Era el cuarto hijo entre siete. Las primeras noticias que se tienen de Cervantes son de su etapa de estudiante, en Madrid. A los veintidos anos se fue a Italia, para acompanar al cardenal Acquaviva. En 1571 participo en la batalla de Lepanto, donde sufrio heridas en el pecho y la mano izquierda. Aunque su brazo quedo inutilizado, combatio despues en Corfu, Ambarino y Tunez. En 1584 se caso con Catalina de Palacios, no fue un matrimonio afortunado. Tres anos mas tarde, en 1587, se traslado a Sevilla y fue comisario de abastos. En esa ciudad sufrio carcel varias veces por sus problemas economicos. Hacia 1603 o 1604 se fue a Valladolid y alli tambien fue a prision, esta vez acusado de un asesinato. Desde 1606, tras la publicacion del Quijote, fue reconocido como un escritor famoso y vivio en Madrid.
