Rainer Maria Rilke ejemplifica como nadie las contradicciones de ese periodo turbulento en el que los logros artí sticos de la belle é poque degeneraron en una guerra mundial que acabó con toda una forma de vida. Nadie retrató como é l la pulsió n que lleva al ser humano a construir obras hermosas pero tambié n a autodestruirse. Su poesí a da testimonio de ese mundo agonizante con una profundidad liberadora que raya lo metafí sico. Dani Torrent (Barcelona, 1974), es ilustrador, escritor y pintor. Dani ha desarrollado ilustraciones para prensa y publicidad pero ha destacado, sobre todo, por su trabajo creativo en el campo de la literatura infantil y juvenil, en el que a menudo es el autor tanto del texto como de las ilustraciones. Por ello ha ganado premios tales como el Junceda, el Jó venes creadores de la Fundació n Fita, el Manuel Antó nio da Mota, el de la Fundació n Cuatro Gatos, o la Manzana de Oro de la bienal de Bratislava.
