        In the Directive Principles of State Policy, Article 48 (A) says "the state shall endeavour to protect and improve the environment and to safeguard the forests and wildlife of the country"; Article 51-A (g) states that "it shall be the duty of every citizen of India to protect and improve the natural environment including forests, lakes, rivers and wildlife and to have compassion for living creatures.
This book "Environmental Policy and Law" is an attempt to compile the available information related to Environmental Policies and laws introduced, created and amended time to time for the welfare of human beings, wildlife, forests and animals. The text is also included legal approach to control pollution and conserve forest.
While writing this book, the authors have put an effort to explain all policies and laws to control environmental pollutions and to protect & conserve our Wild life & Forests. This text also describes the Hon'ble Supreme Court and Hon'ble National Green Tribunal's approach and guidelines issued time & again for safeguarding Environment. It also highlights the major decisions passed on control of types of Environmental pollution with a brief description of all the judgments passed till date by the various Courts.

About the Author : 
Rishi Kapoor, is a Multi-Jurisdictional Lawyer. Having experience of 6+ years of having practiced in Indian & UAE law and been involved in large scale Litigation and Arbitrations. Have appeared for Government of India in some high profile matters and Appears regularly before the Supreme Court of India, various High Courts at Delhi, Jaipur, Chandigarh and Mumbai, National Green Tribunal, National Company Law Tribunal as well as judicial & quasijudicial forum of the Delhi such as NCLT, NCLAT, RERA, NCDRC, & CBI Courts. He also dealt with environmental issues, commercial Arbitration disputes and has done Negotiation, Drafting, Vetting and settlement of various kinds of corporate commercial agreements. He is a Law Graduate from the Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur and is enrolled with the Bar Council of Delhi. He is also a member of Delhi High Court Bar Association and has a rich experience in diverse areas of law, particularly litigation, environmental law, arbitration, banking and finance, employment, recovery suits, criminal, general corporate and transactional advisory as well as commercial dispute resolution. He is presently the founder partner of Chambers of Advocate Rishi Kapoor and Kairos Legal, a full-service law firm based in New Delhi, Allahabad, Jaipur and Mumbai. Mr. Rishi advises clients on a wide range of environmental law issues and represents them as counsel before tribunals and the courts. Mr. Kapoor, while representing India presented a paper on "Geological Carbon Sequestration: are the existing legal and regulatory frameworks adequate", in 2nd International Law Congress of Youth, organized by Maltepe University Istanbul-Turkey. He also presented a paper on "Biofuels: Prospects in India", in a South Asian Conference on the Contemporary Environmental Perspectives organized by Hidayatullah National Law University in association with WWF, CII and Bar Council of India.
Ashish Pandey, as a Lawyer has been based at New Delhi and has been practicing as an advocate since 2014. He completed his law graduation and Diploma in Corporate Law & Management from Indian Institute of Law, New Delhi and enrolled with the Bar Council of Delhi. He is also member of SCBA since 2017. He is presently the founder partner of Kairos Legal, a full-service law firm based in New Delhi, Allahabad, Jaipur and Mumbai.
