About the Book

This book presents the theory and concepts of Signals and Systems through analytical examples in a simple and lucid manner. This book is suitable for a one-semester undergraduate level course in Signals and Systems, for students in Electronics and Communication, Electrical and Electronics and Computer Engineering programs as well as Information Technology.
The book is also valuable for post-graduate students and practicing engineers for reviewing the basics of signals and systems. This textbook covers topics ranging from Introduction to signals and systems, Continuous-time (CT) and discrete-time (DT) signals and systems, Analysis of linear and time-invariant systems, Continuous-time Fourier series, Continuous-time Fourier transform, Discrete-time Fourier series, Discrete-time Fourier transform, Sampling and quantization, Laplace transform and z-Transform. MATLAB codes for all the chapters are given along with a brief introduction to MATLAB.

About the Author

V. Krishnaveni is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. She did her BE (ECE) and ME (Communication Systems) from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore and PhD in the area of Biomedical Signal Processing from Anna University, Chennai. She has more than 15 years of teaching experience at UG and PG levels. She has taught subjects like Signals & Systems, Digital Signal Processing, Digital Image Processing, Advanced Digital Signal Processing, Multirate Signal Processing, Communication Engineering, Electronics and Microprocessors, etc. She has published more than 30 papers in various international and national journals and conferences. She is a reviewer for more than five international journals, which include, IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering. Her research interests include wireless system design, digital signal processing and image processing with applications in biomedical signals and images. A. Rajeswari is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Coimbatore Institute of Technology, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. She completed her BE (ECE) from Madurai Kamaraj University and ME (Communication Systems) from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore and PhD in the area of Interference Management in Wireless Communication Systems from Anna University, Chennai. She has about 20 years of teaching experience. She has taught subjects like Signals & Systems, Digital Signal Processing, Communication Engineering, Advanced Digital Communication, etc. She has published more than 35 papers in various international and national journals and conferences. Her research interests include design of energy-efficient routing protocols for wireless sensor networks and interference management in UWB communication systems.
