كتابٌ يتأمّل الكذبَ بوصفه ظاهرةً معرفيّةً وإنسانيّة، بعيدًا عن النقاش الأخلاقي. يفكّكه، يحلّله، ثمّ يعيده إلى القارئ مرآةً يرى فيها نفسه. وبين الفلسفة والسخرية، يكشف أسباب نشأته وأشكال ظهوره، مسلِّطًا الضوءَ على تسلّل الزيف إلى الصدق، والصدق إلى الزيف، حتّى يصبح من الصعب التمييز بينهما. فنحن نكذب أكثر ممّا نظنّ. نكذب حين نشعر بالخوف، وحين نريد أن نبدو بصورةٍ أفضل، وحين نُقنع أنفسنا بأنّنا لا نكذب، في تداخلٍ بين الوعي والإنكار. أحيانًا نكذب لنُحقِّق غايةً معيّنة، وأحيانًا فقط لأنّ الحقيقة أثقل ممّا نحتمل. كتابٌ لمن يجرؤ على مواجهة الحقيقة... حتّى حين تكون مُحرجة. A book that examines falsehood through the lens of philosophy and irony, exposing its origins and manifestations, and tracing the delicate boundary where falsehood turns into truth and truth becomes falsehood, until distinguishing between the two becomes nearly impossible. We lie more often than we think. We lie when we are afraid, when we want to appear better, when we convince ourselves we are not lying - in that ambiguous overlap between awareness and denial. أوسكار برينيفييه دكتور في الفلسفة، ومدرّب، ومستشار، ومؤلّف. بعد تجربةٍ طويلةٍ في تدريس مادّة الفلسفة في التعليم الثانوي، ابتكر مفهومَ الممارسة الفلسفيّة، من منظورٍ يجمع بين العملي والنظري. أسّس، مع إيزابيل ميلون، معهد الممارسات الفلسفيّة ( Institute of Philosophical Practices) عام 1995، لتعزيز الفلسفة كممارسةٍ في المجتمع وكمصدرٍ للتربية الفكريّة. ينظّم المعهد ورشَ عملٍ للصغار والكبار في المدارس، والمراكز الثقافية، والسجون، وأماكن العمل، وغيرها. كتب برينيفييه أكثر من ثلاثين كتابًا في الفلسفة، وقد تُرجمت أعماله إلى أكثر من ثلاثين لغة، كما ساهم، بصفته خبيرًا، في تقرير اليونسكو الفلسفة، مدرسة الحرية، وشارك في تنظيم مؤتمراتٍ دوليّةٍ حول الممارسات الفلسفيّة الجديدة. Doctor of Philosophy, trainer, consultant, and author. After a long experience teaching philosophy in secondary education, he developed the concept of "Philosophical Practice", combining the practical and the theoretical dimensions of philosophy. Together with Isabelle Millon, he founded in 1995 the Institute of Philosophical Practices, to promote philosophy as a living practice within society, and as a source of intellectual education. The Institute organizes workshops for children and adults in schools, cultural centers, prisons, workplaces, and more. Brenifier has published more than thirty books on philosophy, translated into over thirty languages. He also contributed as an expert to the UNESCO report "Philosophy: A School of Freedom", and participated in organizing numerous international conferences on new philosophical practices.
