Publicó má s de treinta libros, trece discos y ocho producciones audiovisuales para niñ os y adultos. Numerosas bibliotecas, salones de escuelas y centros educativos llevan su nombre en Mé xico y Argentina. Fue declarado personalidad destacada o visitante ilustre de diversas ciudades, y profesor honorario de la Universidad Nacional de Villa Marí a. Entre sus premios se destacan: Grammy Latino (Estados Unidos, 2010), y nominado al Grammy Latino en 2017 y 2018; Teatro del Mundo (Argentina, 2010), Caniem (Mé xico, 2010), Premio Konex (2001- 2010 en espectá culos infantiles), Premio Gardel (Argentina, 2009, 2012, 2014, 2018 y 2019), The White Ravens (Alemania, 1998, 2001 y 2005), Premio Pregonero 2005 (Fundació n El Libro, Argentina), IBBY (Argentina, 1998, 2010), Libro de Poesí a (IBBY Argentina, 2013), Premio Casa de las Amé ricas (Cuba, 1997).
