In dieser Arbeit wird ein Teil der bisher nur wenig erforschten Werke Drogos de Altovillari, eines Reimser Kanonikers, Scholasters und Offizials des 13. Jahrhunderts, zum ersten Mal herausgegeben. Neben der kritischen Edition und Übersetzung des Streitgedichts «Discussio litis super hereditate Lazari et Marie Magdalene», das hier diesem Autor zugeschrieben wird, stehen die Editionen kleinerer Opuscula im Mittelpunkt der Untersuchung, die zum Teil historisch bekannte Persönlichkeiten wie Ludwig IX., den Heiligen, Karl I. v. Anjou, Thibaut IV., «le Chansonnier», die Päpste Clemens IV. und Urban IV. behandeln. Das 525 metrische und rhythmische Verse umfassende Streitgedicht, das einen fiktiven gerichtlichen Erbstreit zwischen Lazarus und seiner Schwester Maria von Bethanien schildert, wird einer juristischen Beurteilung unterzogen, ohne theologische Fragen ausser acht zu lassen. Sowohl die Biographie wie auch die schriftstellerische Tätigkeit Drogos werden in groben Zügen dargestellt. Im Anhang erschliesst ein Incipitregister sämtliche bekannten Handschriften, die Werke Drogos enthalten.

Der Autor: Michael Peter Bachmann, geb. 1975 in Mainz, Studium der Jurisprudenz und der Lateinischen Philologie des Mittelalters an der Universität Freiburg i. Br., Aug. 1999 bis Feb. 2001 Promotion mit dieser Arbeit, seit Okt. 1999 wissenschaftliche Hilfskraft am Seminar für Lateinische Philologie des Mittelalters im Rahmen des Sonderforschungsbereichs 541 «Identitäten und Alteritäten», 2000 Stipendiat der Fondazione Ezio Franceschini in Florenz.
